I like good tactical boots, and my prior loyalties have been to Rockport and Thorogood. So I do have pretty high expectations from a boot. This is my first pair of 5.11, and I'm really impressed with a lot of the features. The lugged traction is great. They feel really sturdy and solid even on wet and slick surfaces! The high shaft provides rigid support. I can imagine that on a long day's march these would really be helpful! They feel substantial - not super lightweight, but not heavier than my other brands.The fit is a little specific. I normally wear a 7, and others suggested sizing up, which I did. I ordered a 7.5, and that was the right choice. For reference, I wear a 7 in asics and new balance running shoes, or a 7.5 in mizuno (which also run a little small) and my other tactical boots are typically a 7, so these aren't insanely tiny, just on the smaller side. I wish they were a smidge wider. I don't always buy wide-width, but sometimes I do. These I would have preferred in a wide if I'd been trying them on in a store. Interestingly, my mother in law, who usually wears a narrow, tried them on and loved the width, but she's normally a 7.5, and these were too short for her. So if you're a narrower-footed lady who is willing to size up these could be great!The right boot especially was just too tight around the top of my foot at the ball. But to the boots' credit, with a few hours of wearing these did get more comfortable. The left one didn't fit as tightly, which I thought odd since normally I'm pretty close to symmetrical.Maybe it's because I had to let the laces out so far to account for the narrow fit, but my laces were definitely too short. By the time I let them out properly there was only about 3-4 inches of lace left at the top for tying. Granted, these are a zip-up boot, so that won't be a daily concern, but I had to tie them in a knot because there wasn't room for a regular tie.So all in all, I expect that I'll get a lot of life and wear out of these boots, but size up and go wide if you're close on size!

These are appropriately sized. Didn't need to size up or size down. They are good quality. As with any boot, stiff but I don't think it'll take long to wear them in. And not the uncomfortable blister causing wearing in. They fit fine and are comfortable.

Cute Boot
These boots are very cute. They go with a large variety of outfits. They are, unfortunately, on the small side for the sizes listed. Like so many boots from the internet, you have to try them before you buy them to know if they fit. Will have to attempt to use the handy dandy boot stretcher as these are far too cute to give up on for maybe a few millimeters of needed space for comfort. As they were delivered they are not too comfortable if you buy the exact size you normally wear.

Order a size up, very snug
Very snug and was small on my feet. These boots are very snug on my feet and I should have ordered a size up for comfort. It hardly fit my feet and now that it is in, it’s snug and not comfy. I wore my normal size. It is very strong though and great for hiking and long walks. They are great quality for heavy duty trailing and they look big and bulky but are actually lightweight.

Excellent Tactical Boots- Runs Narrow though!
I have always liked combat/tactical boots, so when I found myself looking at this particular boot made by 5.11 Store. Based on the visual presentation, I ordered these and now that I have these home, I can attest that these are very well made. I do like that these do have the side zipper detail, makes it super simple to get on and off. I feel that the designer opted to use premium grade materials. In terms of fit, I do find that these are somewhat narrow, you may need to size up half a size. These worked well for me, since I do wear a narrow width. Based on a positive experience, I would recommend this to other consumers. Thank you. :)

These boots are legit tough but still comfy. I love the side zipper makes getting them on and off way easier, especially after a long day. They broke in faster than I expected and feel super stable. May want to order half a size bigger just to be safe and if you plan to wear with thick socks!
