Ad Tec boots are an absolute steal. Inexpensive and well made . These are my 3rd pair. I recommend them. My son been wearing his for 3 years at college and he beats them up there still kicking. Very little break in time or discomfort.
Wasn't sure what to expect when I opened the box, I generally don't buy footwear via catalog, online or otherwise. These were a pleasant surprise. The leather is heavy, supple & generously oiled. The soles are sewn & the heels nailed, The fit was great right from the box and they required no break-in. I don't care for 'lace kilts' so I removed them. As I write this I've had the boots over a month so any defects have had ample time to show, and they're basically fine.Pros: The leather is stout, the stitching sound, padded tongue is a perk, the last they're made on is true to size, the laces are strong and of generous length.Cons: These are water resistant, but not waterproof; in a downpour you'll get wet feet. The soles aren't holding up to rough concrete or asphalt & I'll be visiting a boot repair shop soon. The heels are wearing down quickly though that's probably me, I've always been rough on footwear; a pair of heel taps will help.Summary: Given that these cost under $100, I have to say they're well worth the money. Re-learning how to walk on Western heels was a kick. I haven't priced replacement soles & heels but at least these can be repaired, I've thrown away a lot of boots & shoes over the years because of bonded soles...
I've had these boots for about 2 weeks now. These are some of the most comfortable boots out of the box that I've worn. Well worth the money. I bought them for a horse trip I'm taking next year and wanted to make sure they were well broken in before. No problem.
Great boots! I wear them almost every day! They are really comfortable for being a cowboy heel boot but I love the insert. The size was true to size for me. I wear 13 for almost everything and this was no different, the only downsides is my toes get cold slightly in the winter as I wear dress socks and the tassel kinda frays out unruly. The last gripe is heel block looks a little wonky like it was manufactured incorrectly but eh not a deal breaker. Great boots and they do well on slippery surfaces for the style. Previously, I've owned a pair of Adtec Engineers boots, which no longer fit from losing weight recovering from a heart attack.Just like the first pair, these boots fit great right out of the box. They're not super stiff. Oil tanned leather is much friendlier on the feet than stiffer chrome tanned leather can be.I like the look of these boots. The quality of the work put into making them is obvious. As is the quality of the materials used.I still have the first pair puff boots thday no longer fit (size 13 men's) I need to get to a good home.I liked those boots so much, I bought new boots made by the same company and that should say something.
Bought these boots for my partner. He always needs a good pair of work boots and went looking for one with a low heel. These for great, so comfortable, and perfect heel, and ankle support. Wears them everyday for work. Good quality work boots should last a long time. We just hit the six month mark and they have split at the seam - busted wide open at the side of the foot and sole. And it’s not the kind of work that should result in that! We really thought we found a good solution with these boots. But this is not ok. So very disappointed.
Love the way it fits and feelsPros-The break in period will be minimal-GYW means it can be resoled-Removable insole means you can also change the support and fit more easily-Crazy Horse leather means it’s self-conditioning and will require minimal care.Cons-the heel block is full rubber, and I feel the comfort would be improved with a leather stack-there is also no leather in the midsole from what I can tell, which would again improve comfort-outsole could have more traction.-welt is synthetic, will crack over time.
