Definitely size up like it says
I don’t advise you using amazon’s recommended sizing. Go a half size up like it says. I got my normal size and they hurt my feet. They are too small. Because they were wide I figured I shouldn’t size up because any time I’ve had wide shoes they were too big because my feet are very slender. My actual size feels at least a half size too small. The elastic around the top ankle part was too tight and my toes were against the inside of the shoe. Had it not been for that, I think they would’ve probably actually been really comfortable. They look nice, well made, lightweight. They feel like cleats walking on the floor, but outside they are good on the loose rocks etc. I did feel like I had to pick my feet up more than normal though. I found myself tripping a lot because of how tall the tread is. If you shuffle when you walk you might want to reconsider or be REALLY CAREFUL. They seem pretty durable. Almost all of it around the bottom is covered in rubber so if it gets dirty you can just wipe it off, and it also would probably keep it from getting holes in it like normal cloth/canvas type shoes. The toes are also reinforced so if you trip or kick a stump or rock it doesn’t hurt as much. The sizing was my fault because I didn’t listen. Outside of that they are pretty good and seem like they would last.

Barely there, in a good way
So, before I get into praising these, I do want to say THEY RUN SMALL ORDER UP A HALF OR FULL SIZE. With that out of the way, let's talk about them. First of all, the immediate impression was "these are so light" which is a huge win in a running shoe. Less weight when you are really putting on the miles matters. Despite that featherweight, they do have a decently tall stack and cushioning like a trainer, though not Hoka thick. The upper is almost more sock-like, a seamless construction that even includes an immobile tongue. It didn't present much issue for slipping on, but if you have wider feet it might. While the all fabric upper might give me pause in a trail shoe, it has a ton of rubber stippling for abrasion resistance, and the laces run through flexible plastic panels (see photo). I think this is a pretty clever way to get something that will take some scrapes without adding weight. The outsole is less knobbly than I might have preferred if you are doing really technical terrain, but the tread is definitely deep and grippy. And this might be a small detail, but I feel like laces are often absurdly long, I appreciate these being on the shorter side, especially for trail runners. The toe box isn't necessarily Altra or Topo wide, but it's definitely broader than average, enough to splay decently, which along with the zero drop gives a pretty nice "barefoot" experience. I won't speak to the "Earth Link" bit, that's just not my thing. All and all, a surprisingly quality and well-designed trail runner from a brand that I had never heard of before.

Not the best
Honestly, I was very disappointed with these running shoes. Not only do they run a size small but they're pretty uncomfortable. I'm not sure if it's due to the wide toe, but my feet seem to slide to the inner side of the shoes, making it difficult to walk naturally. The quality of the materials are decent, but no where near the current price of $150. The style is modern, but the toe gives off a duck-feet vibe. The kleats are pretty impractical as well. Overall, I can't recommend these shoes.

Fabulous footwear
I already wear shoes from the Earthing company that have a wider toe box and conductive soles for connecting with earth's electrons, which may offer healing benefits such as decreased inflammation, better sleep, and overall well-being. I've been an earthing/grounding proponent for years but it seems like either you feel the benefits of it or you don't, and I count myself lucky to be one who does feel the benefits so I have invested in a number of grounding products. These Flux shoes are an impressive addition to my grounding toolkit and I'm very glad to have the opportunity to wear, assess, and review them.Regardless of the questions surrounding earthing/grounding, having a wide toe box and zero drop may benefit a lot of feet and spines. These shoes are super comfortable and fit like a glove even as they offer space for toes to spread out. I use a shoehorn to get them on easily, and once on they are one with my feet since the shoe wraps around the top of the foot so nicely. They also have the most marvelous heels that don't slip around at all, just firmly envelop them; this might be my favorite feature because my feet just feel so solidly supported. The laces stay tied and don't need to be double-tied, which is unusual for tennies but very much appreciated. Also, I just really appreciate the overall design of them. They've got cool little features like colored lace tips and small reflective strip scattered over the shoe that make them look very sporty and interesting. The gray and olive colorway is very attractive as well.I am wearing them in the house and the office because I wanted supportive, lightweight, comfortable shoes that I could wear indoors and also use with my grounding mat, which is set up by my office computer and home computer. Since I also lift weights and do other exercises at home, I wanted a pair of tennies that would protect my feet and provide support, and these do that well. I used to do the exercises barefoot but experienced some foot pain with doing that, and wearing these shoes takes care of that. Eventually I'll probably forget and wear them outside, and then I'll see what it's like to use them out in the world, but until then I'm happy to use them daily inside the house or at the office. I do look forward to using them in a hiking capacity too because they are obviously built with that in mind, with the traction and the way the shoe molds to the feet (it would be hard to get rocks or debris inside these shoes)!Update: I injured a toe and needed to wear shoes that could give it room to heal, so I started wearing these outside--and they are the most comfortable, energizing shoes I've worn in a while! Great for traveling. I wore these on a busy walking vacation and my feet were so happy the entire time. Excellent traction, breathable, and all-around 10/10.I did go by the provided sizing chart and measured my feet before ordering. I usually wear a 9 or 9.5 but ordered a 10, which fits me well.
