Good as expected
It’s my third pair and third version of Adidas martial arts shoes over the past 20 years. I am happy with the fit. Since unisex means men’s size I got one size smaller and it fit right. Prior version fit way too wide without any adjustment capability, but thewidth of these is good and the single lace is useful. I need to double knot it or else it unties while kickboxing but my feet stay in them as would be expected. I wasn’t thrilled about the white because I figured they’d get scuffed and dirty quickly on the heavy bag. I was pleasantly surprised to learn they are easy to wipe clean and buff out the scuffs. Overall I’m happy with the shoes.
It's excactly what I purchased. True to size and has been holding up very well to my karate workouts where there is a lot of pivoting involved. The only thing I'd say is that I wished I had purchased sneakers that laced all the way up rather than just at the top so they'd be snugger at the middle of the foot. That's not the manufacturers fault. The shoe holds up very well and for every day use you'll have no problem.
Very comfortable
3-month update: As I said in my review below, the shoe lace orientation leaves much to be desired. In the older Adidas SM IIs, the lace route goes around the full opening of the shoe, so you get a tight cinch down on your foot when you tie it. These shoes have laces that only go through two holes, and the laces don't hold well when you are moving around. I have to double-knot the laces to keep them from coming untied. For that, I am demoting the product to 3 stars. These are very comfortable, and the soles are much more durable-looking than the Adidas SM-II. I have worn the SM-II for over 20 years, and the weakness has always been the soles coming apart over time. The Adi-kick 2s have a much better sole, but the lace is simply a single string through the shoe. It doesn't wrap around the outer perimeter of the shoe like the SM-IIs did. I don't like that. The string could easily be lost if you are not paying attention. One way to minimize this is to tie a knot in the string so it can't slide out.
