Lifestyle Shoe Hits Its Mark
I love these so far. First day with them. From what I can tell they are an Adidas entry into the lifestyle shoe trend and borrow styling from 1970's running and track shoes. I certainly wouldn't run with these, but as a daily wear shoes they kind of speak to, yes, I was a decent if mediocre track runner years ago and I still weekend warrior run into middle age and am doing ok with it (albeit with a separate, dedicated set of shoes). If you flip these over the soles have circles that to me evoke the sockets that you would screw your metal track spikes into.I tried on the Adidas SL 72 RS, a more true to original lifestyle form of a once popular track shoe. Those are tighter and maybe fit more like a pair you would lace up to run track with in school. These are a bit looser fitting, so perhaps a bit better for a daily wear. What is present on both is a canvas vinyl type material that is perhaps true to the heritage. However, some wearers seem to not like how the material does not bend and flex along the more pliable suede overlays. To me it's just a characteristic, but it's there. If you're curious about how it may look after you worn the shoes take a look at photos submitted by other reviewers. But me I love these! Love the fit, the comfort, the vibe. It's what I was looking for.
