Most comfortable shoes I have ever owned

I 74 years old and walk 6-7 miles five or six days a week, mostly on fairly easy trails and streets. Up until ordering these shoes I used the Merrill Moab 2. I still wear the Merrill's for knocking around but the Adidas Terrex Free Hiker is by far the most comfortable hiking shoe I have ever worn. They really are fantastic. They wear like a sock (no tongue and the upper part of the shoe is padded and fits snug - not tight - around the ankle). I wear a half orthodic for a metatatsal problem and was able to put them in without removing the insoles that came with the shoes. The only complaint I could make is that the toes are not protected as well as the Merrill's. To compensate I have changed to Carhart Steel Toe socks which provide more cushion in the toes than the socks I wear with the Merrill's.Great shoes - I highly recommend them.

The best hiking sneaker

I was hesitant to purchase this shoe but once I tried it on...it fit like a dream! Very comfortable when hiking and walking trails.

Love These

This is the 3rd pair I have purchased for my husband. He is an avid walker and hiker and loves the ankle support and the grip on uneven terrain.

sock liner tight, no ankle support

These are pretty nice - sporty and comfortable. However the sock liner is so attached to the foot that it's pretty comfortable -once you take them off. Also, there is next to no interior ankle support which is a bit strange considering they are mid/high tops. Comfortable overall and sole is grippy and bouncy. UPDATE: the left shoe bottom support in the middle broke and you can feel the break with every step - lame after a month or 2 of light hiking

Miles of pleasure out of the Box

I have owned many hiking "boots" Merrell, Salomon etc... and always had a break in period and plenty of sore feet to deal with after long hikes. These received good reviews but given they are Adidas I was skeptical.I took them out of the box and travelled to Hocking Hills with family, just putting these on inspired me to go, soft flexible but plenty of grip.On the trails they performed better than any I had owned. Padding makes a big difference on longer solid trails, I had no arch pain or calf issues.
