have had for a year, still holding strong
This is a good jogging shoe. It's a bit heavy, but the "Continental" tread is well made. The Ultra Boost is not as active, as for example the Solar Glide, but it does have some bounce to it and it does provide a cushioned impact. I'm 5'8", 180 lbs, and I run 4 miles a day. This shoe is in the rotation for wet days. Also, I wear a 10.5 and I can wear thick socks and add inserts. I ordered these in a size 11 and they fit perfectly. Definitely order a half size up from what you normally wear.
I advise to get a bigger size. They are very tight on your forefoot. Great traction and support. The style is very cool looking. The left shoe toe squeaks when I walk with the feel of the toe box flexing.
I'm not a runner, so I can't comment on that aspect of this shoe but I wanted something waterproof for when it rains so I don't soak my feet. The foam on these shoes is pretty comfortable, but I'd say my Nike Invincible Run's and Asics gel Nimbus 25 are more comfortable on foot for me. That said, it doesn't mean that these shoes are uncomfortable at all, just that those other shoes feel comfortable. I think due to the waterproof nature these shoes seem to be a bit heavier also. However, for waterproofing, these shoes are great. Breathability is a bit lacking due to the nature of Gortex but I knew that going on. Because of that, know that your feet might get a bit warmer than normal wearing these. Finally, these also seem to wear slightly smaller, at least to me. I don't have large feet and normally wear a size 7.5 or 8, and I got these in an 8 and they fit just right. Just the top bridge seems a bit tight so I think I need to adjust the laces a bit.
I bought several of these shoes, for myself and family members. The gore-tex membrane is the best out there and while other shoes have let me down not being 100% waterproof - these have always kept my feet dry, even when partially submerged for a few seconds. They are lightweight, look cool (I bought them in different colors) and the Ultraboost 22 is just great. Buy them as long as you can still find them.
I have always had good luck with Adidas Ultraboost shoes, I think it's simply because of the extra cushioning they have. I have owned many pairs, I thought these were good too but after my first wear of a few hours my feet hurt so badly that I'm not sure I can wear them again. I want to be upfront about these shoes, I do have arthritis in both feet.
I wore these 4 times in total and the tread ripped off the bottom of the right shoe. They were comfortable and waterproof but did not hold up at all unfortunately.
