Good shoes, bad sizing chart!
--1) Backstory:-Recently picked up running in the mornings and sometimes afternoons, but didn't really have a pair of running shoes. I figured my regular old shoes would be fine, but after trying out some running shoes, the difference is amazing.I definitely wouldn't recommend trying to run in shoes that are not meant for it.My other shoes hurt the back of my ankles and were very heavy compared to these. They also had no "bounce" to them, and these have some "squishyness" which helps your foot not absorb so much impact on each step.--2) The bad Sizing chart:-The only downside to these shoes is that I had to order them THREE times. Why? Because I stupidly expected the sizing chart on the Adidas website to be accurate. It was not. Fix your chart Adidas!It recommended me a size 9.5 based on my tipple checked measurements. So I ordered a size 9.5, which was too small, disappointing. So I figured, they must not be THAT far off right? So ordered a size 10. Well, that was a dumb mistake, barely any bigger (Doy) and still m uch too small. So I just went with the shoe size I have my boots in, size 11. And lo-and behold, perfect fit!I definitely should have just ordered my previous shoe size, for some reason I thought maybe running shoes might be sized differently, or the fit needed to be more snug, but size 11 was still perfect for me.I would normally deduct a star for stuff like that, but the shoes themselves have been wonderful, so I didn't want to. Just wanted to put this info out there to help people who might be ordering their first running shoes as well.--3) The shoes.-As you can see from the pictures, the shoes look awesome.At first I was worried they weren't real "running" shoes because of the shape. They looked a bit too flat.However, after running in them for a few days now, they definitely feel great. Nice and squishy and light.Highly recommend them for casual runners like me!Amazon also has them at a great price currently, less than $50.I'll update this review when they start to wear out, so we can see how long they last for the price.--Side Note:-I sprayed the sides and top of my shoes with some water repellent stuff to keep them clean, and it's been working great so far. The white is staying very white, even after running on muddy wet ground! Definitely recommend for people who want their shoes to stay clean looking for longer. Don't worry about brand, just find a spray that doesn't alter the color. I used a spray that was marketed for Leather shoes, but it worked fine on these as well.Happy Trails!
