Very good compromise between a dress shoe and a military boot
If you need a dress shoe, but need the support of a boot, and prefer the deck, tread, and upper of a military boot but the professional looks of an executive toe cap, this not only a good option, it's about your only option. Ecco used to have an offering that was also great, but not anymore, it seems. Besides, the tread on these is much better-- you could run up a rocky hill in these without too much trouble. They do, however, have one other thing in common with (much older) military boots: you have to break them in. And I do mean HAVE TO. DO NOT, and I mean it, DO NOT EVEN USE the zipper for the first two weeks. Break them in FIRST, THEN start using the zipper. The zipper should really have larger, heavy nylon teeth, and a much larger pull than it does. It works fine once they're broken in, but DON'T force it before that.I have two pairs, black and brown. They fit well, look great, and they're getting better by the week. But don't overdo it until they're broken in.And may I also say, it's nice to finally see TREAD DEPTH coming back to hybrids like this.
