Like but not in love--update--these shoes DO squeak---happened about after 2 weeks of wearing-getting louder
I think if I would have tried these on in a brick-and-mortar store I wouldn't have purchased them at this price (though maybe I would have from a rock bottom sale rack). I am not returning the shoes simply because I would lose the shipping costs both ways and so I'd basically be already $20-in whether or not I keep the shoes and I only spent $80-90 on them. The shoes are relatively comfy but a little flat and wide so doesn't have as much arch support as I would like. Otherwise, they are comfortable--they don't rub, they don't squeak, and they do have good safety grip--walked safely through an icy parking lot. My first pair of Alegria lasted for 4 years of standing all day long for 8-hour work days and held up well. In fact, those first ones still look good but I have worn the soles down to where they're no longer good from an orthopedic perspective. I once preferred Alegria to Dansko but my current pair of Dansko seems to give me a little more support than these do. Could just be the difference in the style I chose this time around. Still--I won't be turning my ankle in these and the velcro closure seems more secure than my Dansko's have. Not a bad shoe....just not in love with it...maybe just not the perfect fit for my feet.

INCREDIBLY comfortable
I've repeatedly injured both ankles over the years and still feel the effects, so supportive shoes are a must for me. These feel like walking on a cloud! They're INCREDIBLY comfortable and supportive, and I don't need an orthotic with them. I'm typically a 9.5W, 10M, or 10W depending on the shoe, and I've found that I'm a 10M in this brand. A great thing about Alegria is that all their shoes fit the same, so once you've found your size in one pair, you'll be that size across all of their shoe lines. They're pricey, but the quality can't be beat. They're not the most stylish shoes you'll ever wear, but they're not "grandma shoes," either.

Great Shoe But Runs Large
I ordered these shoes with another model of Alegria Mary Jane (see that review re overall great quality , comfort and support). I think with break-in these all leather shoes could be quite comfortable and would no doubt be durable; however, I’ll be returning these bc they run VERY large. I ordered the recommended 38 I usually wear which corresponds to 7.5-8. Even with the “Velcro” strap at its tightest, I can put my finger between my heel and the shoe with lots of room = lots of slipping. I’m hoping I can find the other model, which is softer and more breathable for summer, in a smaller size.

Overall cheap ill fitting shoe; Allegra standards are lowered. Shame.
This type of hard embossed leather does not give. Suede Insert has ODD uncomfortable small near quarter coin sized insert @ arch. When one stands, that weird coin size extra arch support FAILS to fit properly under arch, as if one has quarter in shoe. Strap no longer cut same not properly placed, so each shoe had different uncomfortable placement/ cut.Sizing is notably off: Left shoe too long & heel keeps popping out with every step. Fit, esp box toe, is overall smaller, meaning cannot really wiggle toes, nor wear a sock unless it’s sheer nylon stocking.QC: One could see the Left shoe had different cut than Right which had ragged cut; & cut fails to confirm to natural angle of human foot, it’s cut straight across. Worse, the UGLY 1/16 trim where shoes are glued can easily come apart, as some reviews show pics of GLUED, not stitched shoe, ripped open. Stitching of trim is decorative.My old embossed pairs fit perfectly out of the box, like ALL Allegra MJs back then.Why do shoe companies think cheaper is better when ppl will pay for good quality lasting shoe? Why change the unique insert which set it apart from other shoe brands?The price of < $135 after tax , or even $10, is def NOT worth $ for this disappointing cheap “reinvention” of their entire MJ line.No one buys shoes that hurt foot or fails to fit, esp when COMFORT is priority. Returned.

Best shoe ever
These shoes are so comfortable, they are not heavy very light weight. I wear a size 8 and have a high arch. I can wear these all day even sleep in them they offer so much support. There are too many colors and prints to choose from. I have three pairs. I bought my first pair 6 years ago and they are still in excellent shape and I am very hard on my shoes. Someone said these are nurses shoes. They are not. They are durable you won’t slip and fall on wet slippery surfaces and they look fantastic I’m 45 I wear them my 15 year old likes them too there are styles for everyone.
