Allen Edmonds never disappoints. The craftsmanship is top-notch, the leather is beautiful, and they’re incredibly comfortable right out of the box. These are shoes that not only look sharp but are built to last. Worth every penny!
I chose the lug sole so I could use the shoes flexibly while traveling in winter, and also have something elegant to wear to meetings.They look a little clunky and less elegant than I expected, largely due to the outer sole being a little large. This would have been less visible if the "lip" (the part framing the vamp that you can see when looking down at your feet) had been black instead of brown.Otherwise, they fit well.
I want to love the style but these lug soles are in your face. Probable better on someone 20 years younger and better looking but I still wear them.
Outstanding dress shoes with a easy to walk on lug sole. Well worth the price.

This review is quite simple really, these shoes are handmade in Wisconsin and I bought them about two months ago from Amazon. Having spent the first 40 years of my life living in England and also knowing what it’s like to have handmade leather shoes. These particular shoes are an excellent choice if you’re concerned about quality, the fit and width of the shoe, and the classic look that comes from using high-quality leather and a substantial sole.If you can afford them and you want a substantial high-quality pair of American made leather shoes, then just buy them. They are worth the money.
I needed a nice pair of dress brogues. The problem is I live in Juneau, Alaska, and elegant leather soles don’t work here. Most of the time we all wear Xtra-Tuf rubber boots, even at church! These shoes were the perfect solution. Great quality, though probably not as dressy as the cordovan Florsheim Imperials we wore in the 1960s and 1970s. The leather is softer and definitely not something you’d expect on a saddle. Still, they are excellent shoes and perfect for wet climates.
