I ordered these Alpine Swiss Sofia Womens Suede Chelsea Boots Made in Italy because I loved the look; the Chelsea ankle boot and the chunky heel are very on trend.These boots are made from real suede; they have elastic stretch panels that make them easier to pull on and off. The chunky heel and sole are made from polyurethane. I ordered these in black; it’s a rich, inky dark black, and the boots look great with dresses, skirts, leggings, and jeans.Usually I wear flats; I have a pretty messed up spine (fusions, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis), and comfortable shoes are a must. Earlier this year I discovered I can wear a bit of a heel if it’s sturdy and chunky; at five two, I love these boots because they make me taller, but are still so easy to walk in. I have some mobility issues, and found these very sturdy and good for walking. The heels are about 2 1/2” tall; they give me a nice lift without feeling wobbly.These suede boots look incredible peeking out from under my dresses and maxi skirts. I love the Italian made sleek look.I ordered these in my usual size 9, and I would say they run true to size. They are cut slim to the foot, but that seems to be the style these days. If you have a very wide foot, these may not be your boots, but I found them comfortable and appreciated the width at the toe box and the rounded toe design. The stretchy elastic is great—it’s hard for me to bend over for long, so I like being able to pull these on and off quickly.At the current price ($165.00) I think these deliver excellent value. I’m pleased to have the opportunity to review these through Vine, as they’re a bit outside my family’s usual budget, and I’m enjoying a bit of luxury with these sleek, stylish Italian suede booties. The suede is lovely, and these boots should last a long time if properly cared for.
