My daily use footwear!

This is my second pair, and I love them. I use them for everyday use, and I walk a lot for my job (not stationary on my feet, I just walk a lot from place to place). I like the high-tops because I fear for my ankles after a bad break several years ago. The wide toebox makes this super comfortable, and yet as meant-as-running sneakers, they feel very supportive.

Awesome Hiking Boot!

A friend recommended Ultra after I mentioned I was looking for a new hiking shoe/boot. I only have 10 miles on them, so yes they are brand new, but these are one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn! The fit for my foot is perfect, they are comfortable at the heel and have a great fit at the ball of my foot, which is where so many shoes are too tight. The shoes are light and very comfortable on the trail. I have not gone through water in them and therefore didn't have anything to report on their water resistance.

Runs a bit smaller.

Very comfortable. Light and quality build. Runs a bit smaller than size indicated. I have a pair of the running shows same size, and fit perfectly. My toes touch the tip of the boot. Ordered the next size up, toes fit great, only now I must wear thicker socks.

Amazing boot. Wish it had wide option.

So these boots are awesome. I’ve got quite a few miles in them now. Extremely durable. Extremely water resistant. And comfortable except for I have extra wide feet. Normally need double wide options. The wide toe box is awesome but if they were just a little wider they’d be perfect. Still true to size for normal/narrow feet.

AMAZING trail shoes!

These are probably the most comfortable trail shoes I have ever owned. They require zero break in, and hte wide toe box makes for a comfy fit. Treads are grippy and make you feel sure footed. The ankle support and feel are that of a much heavier shoe. Highly recommended!

Brilliant balance

This is my fourth pair of ALTRAs and the best of them all. Fully waterproof and remarkably light, with some ankle support but not overly so. I use them for gym, walking the neighborhood on pavement, light jogging, and then for heavily-loaded-backpack hikes on muddy, filthy terrain as depicted here. Just the right amount of cushion and the zero-drop allows for feeling the ground and the right gait.

So comfortable, but not durable (disappointing)

I really love Altra, such comfortable shoes. First time purchasing these all weather boots and I was a little nervous about the durability with what I was going to put them through. I’m really upset. The stitching at the front of each shoe has completely separated. The side is also separating from the sole now. I’ve had these shoes for not even a month! Altra needs to figure out how to make these more durable for more intense use. If you put long miles in or plan to wear these for daily use involving a lot of walking don’t bother, they won’t hold up. I used them for work but my work doesn’t involve anything crazy, but does require long tracks under load while pulled by a fury partner. I’ve always loved Altra and wanted my feet to feel happy at the end of my day. And they do, don’t get me wrong, but I need my shoes to last longer than a month.
