Solid shoe!

There was a time when I would still work cattle in tennis shoes and beat the piss out of them. I push “Tennis” shoes, harder than anyone on earth these so far are the most solid altras I have purchased and this is at least my seventh or eighth pair. The durability, which is derive from this waterproof construction is great, but because it is a truly waterproof construction, there is not hardly any breathing of the shoeGreat shoe top pick for getting in it

Great every day shoe

I’ve always loved Altra running shoes. Great support, and great for those of us with a wide foot. Unfortunately the running shoe doesn’t provide good insulation from the weather. These shoes give me the same comfort, and well insulated from the weather. Making them an awesome day to day shoe!

Mostly good performance

Based on several weeks of off-road walking & hiking I think this shoe is a winner. The shoe's resiliency is moderate since the previous pair lasted approximately 1 year. Your mileage may vary. The shoe is water resistant, not waterproof. I would not recommend this shoe for hard surfaces such as concrete or asphalt due to the tread pattern and less durable out-sole, but it definitely grips well on soft or uneven surfaces. The shoe's breathability is not high, but in my experience it does not get overheated.

Bad fabric.

I have 5 other pair of Altras, but none with any weather resistance. Wanted to try these out despite numerous reviews highlighting the fit. The sizing and fit were fine, albeit a bit more snug than my Timp 1.5s or the thin stretchy fabric of Superiors. What rubbed me wrong was the pinching and rubbing of the folded fabric when I flexed my feet as I would if running up a steep incline or even just the toe off action. They were uncomfortable enough trying on to know that they wouldn't work out on the trails. Unfortunately can't speak to the weather resistance ability.

commmmfort

These are my THIRD pair, well actually these are the updated version; my first pair, I still love but are a bit on the funky side now, so these are the new guys. I put them on and didn't want to take them off. I wanted to live in them, sleep in them, ride my bike, etc etc. They are that comfortable. Years ago... I remember going to Bass Pro and trying on many many shoes, boots etc of all brands, and none came close to the comfort of these. I'll keep them.

Second pair and they are sub par

Bought these teal ones after buying a pair of the gray all weather. I wear these everyday to work as I did with my last pair. The grey ones were great and waterproof for about 6 months. These teal ones get wet inside while walking in wet grass. I’ve had them for two months. Disappointed.

Rainy Scotland trip approved

I typically am against water resistant shoes as they can make my feet sweaty/clammy. I purchased these specifically for a rainy hiking trip in Scotland, and they did not disappoint. Same comfort level as my (non all-wthr) Lone Peaks and they kept my feet dry through peat bogs, deep puddles, mud, driving rain, and days of inclement weather.
