Great shoes!

Was looking for a lightweight, waterproof, shoe with a wider toe box for disc golfing. These are a game changer for me as they are extremely comfortable and after a full 18 I am having zero achiness that I usually experience. Great grip and waterproofing seems good as well. Was in wet grass the entire round and socks stayed dry. Would recommend these to anyone unless you drag your toes. The front may not hold up on concrete tee pads but I don't toe drag so they should last me a bit.

Best shoes I’ve ever worn.

Immediately out of the box I’ve never worn a shoe so comfortable. The wide toe box is so nice I feel like my feet are actually free to move and I feel more balanced than in other shoes. Still, they are snug around the heel and provide lots of support for ankles. The sole is great very cushioned and responsive I feel athletic wearing them. Took them on their first hike on a steep, rocky, wet, snowy, muddy trail and they were amazing my feet stayed dry and the traction is great. No desire to take them off.

Excellent lightweight hiking boots

By far the most comfortable hiking shoes I have ever worn.  I love the wide toe box and the zero drop.  They are very lightweight, as opposed to my previous hiking shoes and I love the extra ankle support.  Other shoes like this in the past irritated my ankle but I have had no issues with these.  They seem durable enough for me, I'm not super hard on my shoes.  Oh, and the color looks even better than in the photos.  I get a lot of compliments on them.

This model might not match the pitch

Although the pair are somewhat comfortable, light weight and fit well, their tongues are NOT designed to assist with water repellency. For my feet, the toe box design is exceptional, no hot spots and fair support. I use these for extended walks on hard surfaces (four to six miles). Several months in, adequate for their intended use …

Fantastic Comfort and Weatherproof Shoe

I purchased these for the sole use of disc golfing in. I have 3 other pairs of the normal Lone Peak shoes and went for these to play in during the winter and rainy seasons.Comfort of these is exactly what you'd expect out of Altra. They have the wide toe box and comfortable insole. You do feel a small amount of lace bite when you have these fully laced up to the top. They are waterproof as advertised but the water proofing only goes up to just below the ankle (I learned this after slipping into a creek and getting my foot dunked just below the top). They don't breath at all, which is expected since they are waterproof but just a FYI if you don't like hot feet.Overall these are fantastic shoes/boots, I would definitely recommend these if you're looking for a winter/rainy season shoe.

Good shoes but not for rough terrain

I bought this pair of shoes hoping to get a comfortable mountain trail boots. The shoes are very comfortable and fit well, but I noticed they are not built for rough terrain nor for slopes. Their design does not allow for stability when going uphill or downhill. In addition, their design slowed my walk and made it more tedious than other pairs of boots I have.If you are looking for an easy flat trail hiking shoes, they are very comfy and light and I would recommend them. If you are into steep terrain treks, those shoes are not the right choice and their build quality cannot withstand rough terrains

Extremely Comfortable, Kept my feet warm and dry, didn't have to break them in!

Imagine this:I've never been a walker or hiker in my life. I'm a warm weather person. I was invited to hike the South Kaibab trail the last week of December. My goal was to find a hiking shoe. I spent almost 5 full weeks of trying on all kinds of hiking boots/shoes. I would put them on and know within a few minutes to a few hours of wearing them around the office or house that they weren't going to work.My last gasp effort. I decided to try the Altra's because they are zero drop and I usually wear barefoot shoes. These show up and I try them on... they fit like a dream but I thought the material was weird. But they fit like a dream... and after walking around the house for an hour, I knew that I had to try them. Here's where it gets crazy! I get up on a Saturday morning, it's 25 degrees and snowing. But I am on a timeline (goal driven) training schedule for this South Kaibab hike. I put on my gear, put these Altra Loane Peak All WTHR Mid 2 Trail running shoes for the first ever hike in them. I walk out the door and show back up 10 miles and 3-1/2 hours later. I'm stunned... my feet did not have any blisters or rub points.... NONE! Andy the stayed dry and warm through the entire hike. It was cold! I did stop at about the 7 mile mark to tighten them up a bit as they had stretched just enough to need snugged up again. So, here's a novice review of these things. No idea what durability will be, but for right out of the box, throw them on, and hike 10 miles the first time wearing them, these are unmatched in my experience!
