The perfect athletic shoe
I've been searching for a great comfortable shoe for the right price and finally landed on Altra. Love these! This shoe is extremely comfortable and light. I went jogging in them yesterday and they worked perfectly out of the box. They have great cushion and support. No insert necessary. I love the fact that they are a bit squared off at the top of the shoe, which is perfect for my feet. My toes have plenty of room. Never understood why other shoes are more pointy. What I also love about them is the grip of the soles. They can also be used to hike rocky areas, which I do often. A friend of mine used these to walk across Spain and raved about them. I am so happy I listened to him!

“free toes”
My second pair of Provision 6. What can I say: box shape allows your toes have a freedom to move as the meant to, light, very comfortable yet my feet feel secure and supported . Great for walikng, running. I wear them everyday and my feet never felt better. No break in needed, comfy from a moment I put them on for the first time.

Excellent Shoe, But One Drawback Which May or May not Work for you
Overall this is a very comfortable shoe with a soft upper, excellent cushioning, and unparalleled comfort. The only problem is the poorly designed outsole which could be a no-go for some people.Pros:-Luxurious comfort-Excellent fit-Perfect blend of cushion and what Altra is known for with its wide toe box and zero drop-Fun Styles-Quick ShippingCons:-The only con I have with this shoe is the perforated outsole. (See picture for how it looked after one lap around my block)It is incredibly grippy, but this also makes it very loud when you are running and it picks up and holds onto every pebble, pine needle, and piece of grass you run over. For me this was a deal breaker because I wear my shoes inside and out, and when you bring them inside after that then they scratch floors and leave debris behind. If you only wear them outside, this is the shoe for you. For me, I went with the Altra Torin which I feel had all the same excellent features but with a better designed outsole.

They’re Altra’s …. What else needs to be said??
What can I possibly say about Altra shoes that someone else hasn’t already said? My ProVision 6 is just the latest purchase in my growing collection of Altra shoes. I’m 71 years old, so my competitive running days are over, but I still jog 3-4 miles a day and walk another couple with my wife. Just because I’m older doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate when a product is well made and has a unique design feature. My feet are fairly wide across the ball and toes. The natural foot shape of the Altra shoes works really, really well for me. When it comes to trail running or just plain hiking, my Olympus x’s are my favorite shoes, but on the street or a bike trail nothing I own beats the ProVision 6 for all day comfort and support. The only thing that comes close are my various models of Torins. If you are looking for a true to size, zero drop, wide toe box, street running shoe, in my opinion, you can’t go wrong with a proper fitting ProVision 6

very pretty but they don't last, overrated
very pretty, but the manufacturing material is fragile to the elements, to show them off they are pretty, and even comfortable, only if you are going to use them for sports, the materials with which they are made are very fragile, the upper fabric breaks easily, They fade quickly, beautiful but they do not withstand much stress of use, if you buy them to show them off it is fine, if you buy them for sports or walking in challenging places they will not work for you, in my opinion they are very overrated.

Better than expected
I am an enthusiastic owner of two pairs of Altras - Lone Peak 6, and Provision 5. The Lone Peaks are my best trail hikers, and I use the Provision 5s almost every day for work (I'm a teacher and am on my feet all day). I'm sold on the forefoot width to allow natural foot splay, and the neutral heel, which keeps me more on the balls of my feet.Amazon has a current sale on the Provision 6, which has a few enhancements over the 5, so I picked up a pair to spread the load, so to speak.The Provision 6 is even better than the 5 - it has a touch more sole cushion, and it fits a bit better in the heel. Super good looking shoe as well.I couldn't be happier, highly recommended.
