I love these shoes!
The Altra Escalante 4 are very comfortable and lightweight, perfect for long walks and runs. The wide toe box gives my feet plenty of room to move naturally, and the cushioning feels soft but still responsive. I also like the zero-drop design because it helps me keep better posture while running. The material is breathable, and the shoes feel very well made. I bought them in black, and they look sleek enough to wear casually too. Definitely worth the price—highly recommend!

Best shoes I have ever owned!
The Altra Escalante 4 meets all of my desires in a shoe- wide toe box, flexible sole, zero drop, comfortable for everyday wear (8k-12k steps per day, standing 12 hrs per day.)I have a hard time wearing anything else now because I feel so restricted.So I had to buy a second pair.They work great with business attire.The one thing I do want to point out…they are not black, they’re a very dark grey.Very happy with my purchase!

Comfortable with great cushioning

Great walking shoes
Wow, I wasn’t sure these would make a difference, but they are a whole new walking experience. My feet are immediately relieved when I put them on. They are now my go-to for my daily walks. I have medium width feet and was worried they would be too wide, but they fit my heel and rest of foot snugly. It’s just the toe box that is wide and it allows your toes to move as you walk. Great design.

I purchased these shoes on the recommendation of my sister. I thought they'd be great for wide feet, but it turns out, the only additional width is in the toe base.This is fine, but the rest of my feet have had to go through the agony of getting these to stretch to a "safe" comfort... After wearing them for about a month, I'm still trying to get these to be comfortable. Usually, by the end of the day, the tops of my feet have serious indentation that causes pain and itchiness (thanks to sensitive skin!).The laces are also a PITA (pain in the a....) because they come undone very easily. If these are used for walking/running or working out, you'll find yourself having to stop constantly to re-tie them... The material of the laces just doesn't..... stick? Not sure how to explain it.Either way, they're cute. They're currently dirty and need a washing so I'm about to do that and hope they are a pair that washes nicely... Maybe that will help them wear in a little bit...Onto the pros:The color of these shoes out of the box was spectacular. The white was bright BRIGHT and the color of the soles was truly magnificent. Brought me back to my 90's fashion days.They are flexible enough out of the box that you can bend and move well and they seem to be very well made and durable.
