Updated Review - As Described
UPDATE: I have gone on four 3 mile hikes and did not have one issue with these trail shoes. Toes stayed comfortable, no blisters and the traction going over slippery rocks was excellent. Very happy I chose this pair.Nice shoes! I've had Lone Peak 7 before which were fine. The toe box is super important to me and this fits the bill. I just received and haven't hiked in the yet but will update my review after I do. The color is great! Almost hate to dirty them up! Got these on sale so the value is great. We will see how durable these are soon. The fit is perfect.

Best hikers ever
I’ve bought a new pair of hiking shoes every year for the past 10, and these are the only ones I can wear for long periods of time. I also have a version that’s waterproof. They’re comfortable and lightweight, and the wide toe box is perfect. I put an insert in for my plantar fasciitis, and they’re the perfect shoe for walking the dog along the gravel trail by our home.

Support and Comfort
I used to have Topos which I do love but the zero lift shoes were too slippery for me. These Altras have great traction, no slipping, perfect fit for my wider toe box and narrow heel. Great cushioning and zero lift which I like. Expensive like every other good athletic shoes but worth it.

Excellent fit! Great support!
These tennis shoes are fantastic! The wider toe box provides a comfortable fit, and the support is excellent—perfect for long walks or hitting the trails. They’re also super stylish, with great color options that help hide dirt, so they stay looking fresh even after outdoor adventures. I’ve already noticed an improvement in my leg and ankle pain since wearing them, and I get compliments on them all the time. Highly recommend for both comfort and style!

Had to change running shoes and these work!
I’ve been running in Altra’s Torin 5 for the last couple of years (finding pairs on Amazon or eBay). However when it came time to change my running shoe, there were no Torin 5s in my size to be found. I decided to give the Lone Peak 8 a try. It’s more cushioned than the Torin 5 (mid vs low) but both have 0mm heel-to-toe drop. The stack height of the Lone Peak is larger than the Torin 5, so I was concerned how that would affect my runs. I’m happy to report that I’ve done 2 runs in these shoes, and they were very comfortable and felt similar to the Torin 5s. The Lone Peaks are larger- I wear a size 8 in running shoes and these shoes feel bigger. I’m sure I’ll appreciate it on those very warm running days. So far, the larger size hasn’t made me stumble at all. I’ll be taking these shoes trail running when the weather dries up, but they’re doing just fine on asphalt and gravel for 7-8 mile runs. They’re comfortable, light, and grip the road. I don’t care too much about style, but the blue ones are a pleasant color. I’ll know more about the quality after a couple months.

So close...
Appreciate the open toe box, low drop, and the half size in 11s which is a unicorn of a size. This is my second pair of Altras and I am a fan. I have very narrow feet so a niche problem when it comes to width. This shoe ran quite wide and sloppy for ME. My heel slips out which I have never had happen. I always wear 12s and this is the first 11.5 I have owned. Not too big- toe and heal are fine when standing.Super comfy, keeping them for work shoes and for light weight training days. (Can't do side lunge like movements, too much play in the shoe)

Comfortable with roomy toe box
Great trail running shoes with the wide toe box Altra is known for. Super comfortable right out of the box and stable on rough terrain. Lightweight but still feels supportive. Perfect if you need space for your toes without losing performance.
