So comfortable!

I love this shoe! So comfortable, light, toe box is wide, fun colors, good stability with just enough ground feel. I do wish the tread would last a bit longer, but I got a good year and a half out of them! They're still fine for walking, I just don't use them for hiking as much now that I've worn the tread down.

Nice looking and comfortable!

I got Altra Superior 5 sneakers because I walk trails for exercise. I have a damaged lumbar that surgery can't fix so walking is about all I can do. And it's important that I don't fall down. That said, I love these shoes! They are perfect for me. They look great too. Classic yet hip. The shoes are wider at the ball of the foot and that allows for swelling and for stability while hiking. Good arch support too. I haven't stumbled or slide on gravel/rocks since I starting wearing the Altra Superior 5.Many reviewers recommended getting a size smaller as the shoes run large. I got my regular size 8 and they fit perfectly.

Great walking and trail hiking shoes

I got these shoes to take on a trip to Italy. I wanted to have lightweight trail shoes for hiking, that also served for long days of walking in the city. These shoes fit the bill. I had no problem hiking steep hills in them: they have great grip. I love the wide toe box! And these shoes were also comfortable to wear in the city and not look out of place because of the fun colours . I recommend these shoes, especially as a hiking boot alternative.

Great Shoe!

These are a very comfortable shoe! I've been through many running shoes/ trail runners for a daily wear. I work on a horse farm where im walking on dirt and grass for 15,000-25,000 steps a day. These are the first shoes that keep my feet feeling good after working all day! The only two downsides I've found is they are slightly on the smaller, wider side and the soles are slightly slippery. That being said I have very narrow feet and the fit is still great, the toe box is just roomy. I will order a half size up next time. The bottom has some intense trail runner tread but the bottom is a tougher hard plastic that gets a bit slippery when they are wet and I'm walking up our wood ramp. Truly though, I have been through so many shoes and am EXTREMELY critical and picky and these shoes have held up great!

Best sneakers for wide feet!

After spending hours researching athletic sneakers that will fit my wide foot, and spending $$$ on Hoka, Ryka, and Nike sneakers that didn't live up to the hype, I thought why not and purchased these. Not only are they much more affordable than the majority of other brands, but these are also by far the most comfortable sneakers I've purchased. It is so difficult to find shoes that fit me well, as I have wide, nearly flat feet and my ankles tend to swell easily. It's very important to me to have foot-shaped sneakers that don't squeeze my toes, and I also don't like overly cushy shoes as the Hoka brand shoes tend to be. The Altra sneakers are affordable, lightweight, supportive, and give my feet just the right amount of room. Perfection!

Well made.

4 years later still wearing. They are a nice looking swim shoe I feel safer walking on slick wet surfaces such as boat deck.

Great shoe but did not last a month

I normally take a 8.5 shoe but I have wide feet and have formed bunions after years of wearing shoes with toe boxes that are too narrow for me, so I decided to try these after they were recommended by some people on Youtube. They are very comfortable. However, I'm not impressed by two things (1) lack of durability and (2) color choices. I DANCE while I walk. I'm not a runner and I'm not a hiker. Perhaps if you're a runner, hiker, or someone who walks normally, you'll be okay, but I literally dance as I walk, and I do A LOT of turns and pivots on my toes. After a month, a significant hole developed on the side of the big toe of my left shoe. So, I had to throw these sneaks away. I get better wear from my $40 Asics running shoes. I'm also disappointed in the colors this company offers. Most have white soles, which I do not like because they get dirty very easily. I chose the slate gray with the aqua soles. That's the best they had. I think the company can do better. All in all, it was a wasted $100 something dollars for me. I might try ALTRA Women's AL0A5484 Paradigm 6 Road Running Shoe in the color navy. Otherwise, I'll have to look for another brand or try wearing this brand when I'm not exercising (dance walking), in order to ease my bunion pain.
