I love these shoes. They are alittle snug around the toe area, so can't wear for extended period. I bought them because I work in the medical field, I love them but can only wear them if going out for a short time. I plan on ordering another pair but will go up 1/2 size.
I’ve owned Altras for years and am very loyal to the brand. The Superior 6 is not a good shoe. Very painful pressure points on both the top of the balls of my feet. They cannot be loosened so I’ve been trying to “break them in” to the derogation of my poor feet. The tongue is only attached to one side. It does not cover the entirety of the foot so there’s pain there too. I’ve even tried without socks. Nothing helps. Very expensive pair of goodwill shoes.
On my 3rd pair. They run small i get a ½ size bigger but I love the wide toe and more natural shape and feel. They are not a minimalist shoe, but a great inbetween. They have great support, light weight, and wear at at an appropriate rate.
I have flat feet but I don’t qualify as needing wide footbeds. Altras usually work on me as they have the right comfort in my trail running shoes & the toe box allows me to feel less cramped. However, these felt great on my toes but the middle of my foot are was tight & pushed out the lace and tongue area. Other than that they’re lightweight, great to withstand most elements (minus the white bottoms - those get dirty quickly). All around great shoe just not for those with flat feet than can cause you to be a little wider in the center foot area.
My foot dr reccomended i get a pair of these. The boxier toe area is suppose to be better for feet. I usually wear a 9.5 but ordered a 10. Glad i did my toes are almost to the end of the shoe. Probably couldve used a 10.5. I do like the the wider box on the toe area it is roomy but not floppy big. They are comfortable. Its almost like going barefoot. Im enjoying them.
These shoes are very well made and have stood up to rugged use for the last 2 months. They have a supportive heel cup and mid-foot with a good wide toe box for stability. They are not only comfortable, they look good too!
Generally I like the brand and don’t mind paying more for shoes that fit my needs. However these were too narrow at the point where you insert your toes. The profile was too small to even get my feet in there so I had to return. I can’t size up because I have short feet and the length would not work. This was unfortunate because I really wanted the color. It’s a good looking shoe.
