Nice and fashionable pair of boots
These Amazon Essential combat boots are closer to dress shoes from just the appearance. When worn and covered by my pants, you wouldn't be able to tell they are boots.I wear a size 9.5M and the 10M I ordered was a perfect fit giving me slightly extra room by the toes. The zipper on the side makes it extremely easy to put on and remove the boots even when the shoelaces are tied.These boots are fairly comfortable and I can certainly walk around in them. The only minor issue is that the top of the boots can be slightly stiff; hopefully it loosens up a bit over time. Given the price and how good they look, I would give it a pass.These boots are great value and look fantastic.

Nice Looking..Well Fitting...Good Constructed Boots
So...Okay....I got these because I was desperate and needed a brown pair of this style of boot before the Christmas holiday. I'm a woman size 10M that ordered a 8.5 in this boot, and they fit perfectly. Men's shoes tend to have a long toe shaft, so they look longer on me, but that isn't a show stopper. I totally missed the ad mention about zipper access. The zipper is 100% appreciated for ease of getting into and out of the boots. The man made upper is a bit stiff, and I don't think it's going to get much softer. The stitching is strong and thick as well as the laces. The back loop is generous that easily allows for your finger to effortlessly slide through the loop. The brown color is rich looking and a bit burnished distressed -in a very nice way. All in all I am pleased. At $50, the price point is kind of high, but I guess for men's shoes it's competitively priced.

Combat style dress boots, but better than expected.
These are dress boots as the description notes. The title's mention of "Combat Boots" is misleading in isolation.Combat style dress boots.The exterior faux leather feels nice enough and has a subtle leather smell. Some of the interior is covered in a thin canvas-like cloth material that ends about midway on the way to the toe where a more rugged form of the faux leather can be felt.Comfort is not entirely absent, and there is some padding to stand on, but if I needed to spend much time in these boots, I'd look for insoles to go with them.The rubber used on the soles is fairly soft with an unfamiliar texture. It looks suspect to my eyes, but I'll have to defer judgment until they're worn.Seems hard to beat for the price.

Contemporary style, runs half size larger, convenient zippers
I like the contemporary style on these basic boots. The material is pleather, has black colored side zippers, and thick round laces. I think they offer good support at the ankle, but I personally didn't find the fit that comfortable. For example, I could feel the stiff cap toe rubbing on my foot when walking in these.I'm glad I got the variant in black, as they seem to match with anything. Although described as combat boots, they are [just] your basic boot with a large cap toe. When it comes to sizing, I did get a half size smaller, which was a good idea, because they seem to run large, although your results may vary.Overall, the quality is good for a basic pleather boot, but these definitely require a break-in period, and the sizing appears to run a half size larger. However, for casual use I think they can look really nice, although I didn't find them particularly comfortable for all-day wear.

Not the best quality of materials or craftsmanship. Very lightweight and thin material.The heal is unfinished. The heal fold/crease (heal butt) should not be visible at all.The dye job is horrible.Wore these out in the rain 1 time and they are discolored by something that dripped or splashed on the boot.

What you're getting here is not some ridiculously high-end footwear; its an affordable set of boots that look nice, and are easy to put on/take off. The fit was true to size for me, and I never felt any discomfort while wearing them. The only thing I cannot comment on is longevity, in so far as these don't feel like they're going to last a terribly long time. To be fair the toe is either double-layered or just a thicker piece of PU, since it is noticeably stiffer than the body of the boot, so I would hope that would mean you're not likely to be kicking your toes through them any time soon. There's frankly not a lot to be said for these, since the price and materials mean I'm not expecting a lot out of them, and the bar is rather low. If you like the look, don't plan on this being a "generational purchase" to hand down to your grandkids, and have relatively low expectations, then these will probably be a 5/5 for you as well, and are a decent recommendation from me.

I usually wear an 8.5 so that's what I ordered -These are a little snug, so if you wear thicker boot socks I may suggest ordering a size up. They work for me right now though, since I wear thinner socks for work.I'm NOT sure on the quality of these yet but they are are comfortable enough for grocery shopping and working. Working will truly be the true test as I work trade shows and do A LOT of walking. We'll see how long they last, hehe. I'm used to Docs and Fluevogs so these are VERY light by comparison, but sometimes you do NOT wanna put docs on.The zippers on the side of these are sooooo nice because it's so much easier to get them on and off. Be prepared to break them in, they are very stiff in some areas and I am still in the process of doing so, but for what it's worth - they're worth picking up for the price if you want an combat boot that comes on and off with ease.
