This Anime Cosplay Men Wooden Clogs with Tabi Socks set is an ok product. Aesthetically, these Japanese Geta Sandals Traditional Kimono Slippers look fantastic for Anime Cosplay, and the inclusion of Tabi Socks completes the authentic look. However, the practicality for walking is severely lacking. Honestly, I can't take a few steps without sliding off of them. The glossy finish on the wooden base makes them slick and unstable. I have considered sanding them down, noting I have considered taking sandpaper and knocking the resin finish down to improve grip. While they succeed as a decorative costume prop, they fail as functional footwear due to the slick surface.

So cool . But size issue
These look so cool . I love All the details , the dark wood grain , the rivets and the design on the material . I love The color too , and the fact that they included the toe split socks . They even have some added grip, texture and cushion on the bottom to be non slip and maybe ease down on the clomping around .Unfortunately they are not the right size . I ordered 10 male . It didn’t say if maybe this is not US? Because what I got was more like a 7 or 7.5. That’s not gonna work obviously . Not even close . When I double checked , the site said if 10 then choose 10. I dont Understand what happened .Being I love Them , I would hate to take much off if it was a simple mixup and I was Indeed just given the wrong pair . But I do Not know if it’s the products sizing is off or not though .

I love these not just novelty

Okay for kicks and giggles
These geta sandals are okay for kicks and giggles. My husband really likes the tabi socks. These socks make me think of the ninjas who wear tabi boots as part of their fighting gear. The upper part of the sandal is made well and anchored into the sandal by rivets and possibly glue in the toe section. Not sure if the material is felt but my husband says it is super soft and comfortable against the foot. The wood base of the sandal is very porous and laquered. The outer soul has 2 non-slip rubber moldings glued onto the heel and toebox - which is good for safety reasons, I suppose. These are somewhat different from traditional getaway sandals in that traditional geta sandals are made of denser wood and do not have a lacquer coating on them. Rather, they are coated and sealed on the exterior with an oil such as a fish oil or oil from the tree of which they are carved. This also aids in preserving them from the elements and makes them waterproof. Some of the lacquer coloring has already come off the sandals and onto the tabi socks - they are now a shade of brown which is permanently stained into the bottom of the tabi socks and cannot be removed by any means (bleach, Oxi-Clean, Spray N Wash, etc.). Traditional geta sandals have 3 cylindrical carved pieces of wood that serve as the base of the sandal. They sit horizontal to the length of the sandal. The "thong" or upper portion of the traditional geta sandal is also hand-braided and woven into the sandal itself. Quite different from these representations. They run a little smaller than average so I would suggest to size up a half or whole size for comfort. As I have stated, these are okay for kicks and giggles. If you are looking for traditional geta sandals, these are not they.
