There are two ways to evaluate these shoes. First, I will describe the shoes themselves. Then I will describe just how great they are to have.The shoes are surprisingly well made. The stitching is just right and there are no defects. The sparkly gold on the toes and accents is solid and not just glued on glitter. The gold on the rest of the show is really shiny and slick. It looks like gold. I have no idea how durable these really are but if you're looking for hiking boots your missing the point. The soles are basic and very firm. They sound a little clompy on concrete but so what. If you're going to walk 50 miles on your charity walk these aren't the right shoes. They look great. They're comfortable enough to wear out of the house for a while. They're great for errands. They're great for office work. I have no idea how these would actually be for an 8 hour shift of warehouse work though I'd have to advise against trying that on day one. These are not as comfortable as your advanced athletic shoe but again, that's not the point. These are great to wear for half a day or a few errands.The included insoles are OK and provide a hint of arch support. If that matters to you, use your own insoles. We usually do for most shoes. The fit is pretty good.Now here's why you need them. It's because they're great! I'm writing this in December of 2025 and things out in the world are tense. Wearing these shoes in public, to go shopping for example, makes strangers engage! People we didn't know talked to my wife. She got 6 compliments in 40 minutes by smiling strangers. This doesn't count the number of uncounted smiles. Anything that helps people feel happy and comfortable enough to say something to a stranger this year is a good thing. These bring happiness and it's hard to put a price on that. I've uploaded a video of her walking through the store. While it only shows red and green, there are several different colors and programs that flash or rotate through the colors. Outside of December, she'll use the rainbow strobe. They charge easily on a cool dual USB C cable.These shoes are awesome and make people happy.
