Great boots for big men
I LOVE ARIAT BOOTS!I have a pair of black round toe heritage Ariats, that I've been wearing for about ten years. I don't wear them every day, but they are worn enough to gauge the comfort, durability, and quality. They are excellent on all points. Arait boots wear like a tank- strong and durable rubber soles and heels. Recently I did put a better set of gel insoles- Dr. Scholls, believe it or not- to replace the worn factory ones- and now they'll be just as comfortable as when new. I just received this pair, and got them at a great price reduction, so, I bought two pairs. I am wearing the one that just arrived right now. I am a 13EE, and these are the only brand of cowboy boot that I can even get on, because of my high instep. They do need to break in, and fit just a tad loose in places, and that's o.k. with me, because it's up in the toe box area, and that's good. The heel area fits very good, and walking in them is comfortable. DON'T go lower in size. I suspect over time, that these will conform to my foot better and I'll like them even more. In the winter, a slightly thicker sock seems like it will work fine. These were shown in the sizing chart as 13 W- wide. I'm happy to report that these are indeed, 13EE on the boot's inside label, my size. Yeah, made in China.. boo- but so's my cel phone, laptop, and about 80% of our household electronics. Bottom line, if you're a big man like me, these Ariats are a good, all round utility boot. My wife commented on how much she likes them when I unboxed them a little while ago.I highly recommend these boots.

Buy over and over
I have bought these 4 times now for my husband. He absolutely loves them. They are true to size as he is a 11.5 in tennis shoes and the 11.5 fit perfect. He wears them out to nice company dinners as well as a casual day out. He will even work in them time to time on job sits and come clean wash. The perfect boot for any occasion. The leather is legit and a great price for ariat boots.

One just a little too difficult to get on and off
It's almost as if the spot on the rear part of the shaft where it meets the counter on the right boot is an 1/8" or so tighter than the left boot, just enough to make it VERY difficult to get the boot on or off. So difficult I thought about returning the boots. I dont think it would have detracted from the overall look of the boot if the design allowed for maybe a little bit more room. Or maybe it's a quality control issue . . . Hopefully the leather will stretch a bit before long, but I feel a boot should fit well from the start, including going on and off without unreasonable effort. Aside from that, once i get them on the fit is perfect. A little bit of room in the heel, a little bit of room at the toe, snug but not tight on the sides, couldn't ask for more for this aspect. Style is nice, overall look is nice, quality seems good . . . just that unreasonable constriction on the right boot getting it on or off requires a one star deduction.FOLLOW UP: a month later, the right boot is now just a little easier to get on and off, but I wouldn't call it "easy." It won't break the hard plastic boot jack, as it threatened to do at first. Can't pull it on with medium thick socks, have to use the pull holes to keep the shaft straight while using body weight to push my foot in. It's the boot, not my foot, as it's not an issue with any other boot, including my Ariat Relentless Prime boots. All that being said, I'd bump my rating up .75 star, a full star if I didn't have to pack a boot jack when I travel, these boots are quite nice. BTW Amazon apparently assigned the wrong size to this review, the boots are 11M, aka 11D.

ARIATS COME OVERSIZE BECAUSE OF THE GIGANTIC OVERSIZE INNERSOLES...HERE'S WHAT TO DO
i got these in 2015 and loved the style...however have not worn them because they were simply too large...which i must explain.they fit well, but ariat puts a big giant insole in all their boots that don't just go under your foot, but up the side of the shoe from the midfoot back to the heel. his is all nice and plush, but not only is it overkill, especially with rubber heels, but it forces ariat to make their boots a size larger to accommodate this huge oversized inner sole.if you look at the sizing data on ariats with inner soles, you'll find most people say they are either 'somewhat large' or 'too large'. i since have found that on western boots from ariat, and any maker that uses large insoles, you can get a size that really fits you without that oversized insole, and either cut the edges of the insole down (especially the part that goes vertically up the side of your foot for about an eighth or quarter inch). this will allow you to get a more proper size that is not all based on a huge inner sole more apt for space boots. IF cutting the manufacturer's inner sole doesn't make the boot fit without being tight at your correct size, i simply get a pair of super thin dr. scholl's gel inner soles...they usually have a higher heel than the rest of the inner sole, but this actually moves your foot up and back, giving even more room at the front.while i tried that with this boot (replacing the inner sole) the boot fit okay at 10.5 (i normally take a 10.5) but was still a bit large, and so long it looked a bit like i was wearing flippers.so i have repurchased this boot in size 10...which is the only Western boot i need to go down a half size to wear. i have some old ariats from 10 years ago, before they began with these space boot inner soles that are really unnecessary, and they're almost a full size smaller than the new ariats, same style, which tells you something...basically confirming what i'm saying here.as we all know, Western boots are the one shoe that is rather highly consistent across brands sizewise. most 10.5s will be just that, 10.5s. the one exception i can think of is nocona, which are a small bit tighter/smaller than all other brands, so i always get an 11 in those and they fit/measure just like my other 10.5s.ariats are the only brand i know that you need to go down AT LEAST a half size to match normal Western boot sizing...and this is for the insoles.other than this long research paper on ariat innersoles and sizing...the boot is great. i wasn't going to spend another $150 or whatever to try and return these after wearing them around figuring sizing out, so i just have them in the closet on top of a pile of other cowboy boots that didn't work out. HOWever, these are such great boots that now, 3 years later, i'm getting around to buying these again...here on amazon, using a store credit... very much looking forward to receiving them.i love the style, the thick comfortable rubber welt sole and high stacked heel, and thick leather. they are great...and now you know how to size them properly and deal with the absolutely unneeded space boot oversize innersole. IF you are someone who needs extra cushioning for some physical reason, do get the boot without downsizing and keep the full innersole in their as is...but most of us don't buy Western boots to look like we're wearing swim flippers.

Nice boot! Too narrow for me.
Awesome looking boot due to the narrow toebox. Unfortunately the width was too tight even with an extra wide.
