These are well made very light and comfortable love them only downside is they're very expensive
First of all, most of the reviews say they have issues with the size. I ordered at my normal size and they fit perfect. I could have actually gone up a half size in case I wanted to wear really thick Alpaca socks. Second, they are pretty comfortable out of the box. They will need some breaking in but after wearing them at work for a couple days I'm pretty happy with the comfort so far. Third, the BOA laces are the way to go. Tightens on the right spots and being able to adjust them on the fly is very convenient. I'll be back to update as needed, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy them if I was you.EDIT: My BOA lace on one of the boots broke 7 months in. I am currently working with Ariat to see if they will warranty them. But be cautious if you use these as daily boots, the cable may break sooner than expected.
I had the laced version of these for the past 7 years, went through 4 pairs of them because you can beat them into the ground before they ever feel uncomfortable. That's not the case with these. I wanted to like these for the BOA system, but since they're high tops the system really only tightens the lower part of the boot. Feels like I have no ankle stability whatsoever. No matter how tight I put them, still feels loose. They feel like slip ons that barely fit. Havent had any knee issues but now I've got terrible knee pain from these. Sucks because it's the same exact boot I've been using except they ditched the laces. These may be fine for a shop, but for boots that are near $300 you'd think they can stand whatever. Definitely not meant for climbing to crawling to climbing, unless you want to mess with the boa system all day.
BEST BOOT IVE EVER WORN PERIOD
Amazing durability for my husband that works in extreme weather conditions. comfortable and very satisfied with quality for the price.
Okay to start off this is the exact boot design I've wanted and had in my head for years being a snowboarder and electrical contractor and journeyman. Excited is an understatement when they came out. I used the laced/side zip and pull on versions of square toe Ariat's and these BOA's are my favorite look and feel. With that being said I've broken the BOA wire 3 different times and while it's a free replacement it sucks having to finish the day with zip tied or electrical taped boots. The stitches usually separate at about a year because of mud but this time I made sure to use clear gorilla glue as soon as it started coming apart so I should get 2+ years out of these. The other complaint is the wire kind of kinks at the bends (also where it breaks) and doesn't allow it to tighten each side evenly but I guess it still works.
For me? Excellent... they just lack more durability to the soles!!
