This is the only style of bout my hubby will wear to work! This is his second pair! The first pair lasted 2 years and if you knew him, you’d know that’s a miracle! They are very durable , stylish, comfy, and the color matches everything! Great value!
Next update:Man I’ve put these boots through hell. I’ve had them for a couple years and they’re still holding up. They have survived everything from Church, snow, two crazy girlfriends, construction, yard work, hiking, hunting and even a German Shepherd puppy. Still kicking rocks with themUpdate to original review below; as soon as I treated the leather the character in the boot came out and looks much more similar to the product photo. I attached a picture after applying leather treatment NOT POLISH - I used a non glossy leather water proofing treatmentI ordered a half size down based on the other reviews. They fit perfect. I have wanted a pair of boots for a long time that didn’t have the typical heal most cowboy type boots do. I wanted something that was comfortable. I have had a couple pairs of Ariat boots but ended up getting rid of them because they had too much heal for me. I can’t speak for everyone’s style and or preference however for me these are the perfect boot. I have not found another pair anywhere like them. They are lightweight and low profile without the cow-heal you see on most boots. These boots are very comfortable. I’m so happy with them I ordered a second pair in a different color. The leather does not look like it does in the picture on the light brown color but I’m sure with the right leather treatment and break in period these boots will scuff up and look more like the photos.
Comfortable right away. About a week after I got them I had one sore spot that lasted a couple days. Fit well and I really like this style of boot with the flat treaded bottom. Water does soak through the leather pretty quickly.UPDATE: a year and a half later the boots are still holding up and I wear them every day, at work and home. This is my favorite boot of all time and I will be getting another pair soon. I’m a superintendent so my use is mostly walking around. Having a flat sole helps a lot compared to other western work boots so you can walk easily on rebar and other tricky areas safely and comfortably. I oil every few months so the leather has lasted very well. No longer very waterproof and the sole has no tread left because of so much use. Strongly suggest this boot for a comfortable, practical western work boot.
Comfiest boot I've worn yet. Was a lil worried about looking dumb, since I've always worn heeled boots before this, but the boot actually looks very nice. Heel is a little bit loose, but I'm hoping it will form a little more to my ankle, what with it being unlined in that area.
First off, these boots are very comfortable, and extremely light. Secondly, the break in period was short and painless. Thirdly, they are comfortable and and light weight. Now, the last point was redundant, because they are exactly that....however this is three weeks of pretty intensive work weeks. The first day the foam sole decided it needed a more aggressive tread pattern by making notches in the side. The first and second week made no changes. After the third Wednesday the toe box collapsed. My consensus is.... great, comfortable work boot, easy to slip on and off, no break in period. Bottom line is.... this boot is better in the office than in the field. Desk jockeys, this is YOUR boot. Blue collar boys, STEER CLEAR, they won't keep up with you!
I already owned normal Ariat Rambler boots for a few years. I recently saw the Rambler Recon boots with the same type of sole as the boots worn by experienced butchers when I used to work in a game processing and taxidermy shop, a few years ago, I knew that these would be perfect for OR. Rambler boots have amazing support and surpass any other type of shoe that I’ve worn (ASICS/Brooks/Vans) when I stood for hours with no break during surgery. These boots are lightweight and with a bare bones design goes well with scrubs, plus them being full leather to protect my feet from bodily fluids and falling surgical instruments was definitely important. The grip is phenomenal and they’re quiet whenever I’m walking around the hospital to not draw any negative attention is great. Simply put, these boots are perfect for OR.I wear a size-11 in Vans, but I wear a size-10.5D in Ariats.
Good comfortable boots, just after a couple of weeks I feel like I'm walking on them, on the sides like a big boy.Also notice it does not support your ankles at all its quit soft.Maybe its just me but my other boots do not feel this way.
