Perfect right out of the box and so comfortable!

Love these boots! Comfortable straight out of the box! I am a 64 year old female with large feet who in recent years has developed bunions, in particular on my right foot. So I was torn between getting a ladies size 11 which only comes in a medium width, or order the subject of this listing in a men's size 9.5, which is also a medium width I suppose, but a men's medium width. So glad I got the men's. I love them! Have worn them every day since receiving them. They are just wide enough at the ball of the foot area. They are perfect! They did seem a bit loose in the heel area at first, but most times I wear very thin socks so might have to ramp up the thickness of my socks somewhat. They are fairly warm. I live in central Texas so not a lot of deep freezes happening here (yet)! And the price was outstanding at Christmas time. I like the rubberized toe because I can be clumsy at times. And the color is just a perfect shade of brown!I don't herd cattle or rope steer, but I do work in my yard a lot and I tend to be hard on shoes. These are much warmer than athletic shoes I will say. This style with the rounded toe makes me not so conscious about the size of my feet. They look very sleek and flatter the foot. Haven't walked on much water, but they appear to shed rain well.I hope they last me for a very long time!

Made for horse riding, great for motorcycling

I been looking for high topped shoes to wear while motorcycle riding. I've actually bought and returned several pairs and couldn't seem to find a really good fit. I wear 8m or slightly wider. I also have a high arch, or instep, which prevents me from getting my foot into most slip-ons. I think I may be over reading or over analyzing the reviews, trying to guess if I should go up or down in size, with no luck. Most of the Ariat Terrain reviews said it was true to size, so I an 8m and they felt good the first time I put it on. My foot felt secure and my the ankles seem protected. Ariat's were designed for horse riders, but I find they are the best motorcycle shoes I've had in years. I've only had them a week, and have only ridden a few hundred miles wearing them, but they seem to add to my riding enjoyment. There is a waterproof version, but these aren't. However, I'm a fair weather rider anyway. I like the look, I like the feel, and they seem well made. I like the thin layer of extra protection on the toe and heal since I'm a bit clumsy and scrape up most of my shoe. Also, I like a defined heal, it helps my foot stay in place on the motorcycle pegs, and the shank in the middle of the sole make having you feet on foot pegs (rubber covered pipes) a lot more comfortable. They are very reasonable priced, I will recommend them to everyone interested in a high top shoe.I had a chance to wear the Ariat's while walking around a couple of days. Actually is was some walking and a lot standing in place. The wear very comfortable. The high arch footbed in many shoes hurt my feet. I'm fairly flat footed and it seems all my weight is concentrated in the arch. So, some people might feel there is a lack of support

Great motorcycle boot

Bought for riding motorcycle (mens and women's) great protection and stability. Great traction on the bottom. True to size. They feel broke in upon first wear. Easy to walk around in. Great looking boots.

Toes peels off

I have owned several pairs of this boot. They are very comfortable but this pair started peeling off at the toe within two weeks of purchase. I wore them three or four days a week with light to moderate use. I also purchased a pair for my son and he had the same experience with his. Ariat should recall these and make things right. Their name as a quality boot maker may not wear well.

If your looking at for comfortable affordable Boots for work or a wet environment these are for you!

I am giving these shoes 4 stars instead of 5 because these shoes were 5 days late. Other then that, nothing was to be complained about with these boots. I was worried when I first took them out of the box that they would be small but to my luck they fit great on my feet. At first the shoes felt a little clunky when I first put them on. But after wearing them for a while at work while doing landscaping maintenance they felt great and fit like a glove. The shoes are very nice and don’t give me blisters when I wear them. And can breath pretty well but can get warm sometimes depending if your working in them or have the suns rays on them. If you wear them in a colder or wetter environment you should be fine with them on. As most boots or shoes are these are a bit pricey but are worth the price.

Good boot for the price.

I'm not sure if I would be giving these 4 stars if not for the price, I paid for them. They do seem to be a good quality boot. And I bought them only to use around the property and on walks up our in-town Butte. So, I believe they'll work well for my needs. And they are a good-looking boot. I'm not sure how they would hold up for more serious hiking. The sole tread is good for what I will use them for, but I do not know yet know how much traction they would provide off-road. And the leather over the foot seems to be thinner than I've seen before. This probably makes the boot lighter. And I did treat the leather with snow seal, but I'm not sure yet how resistance they'll be to light rain and snow. I bought a 9-1/2" wide and they fit my wide feet well.

Beautiful shoes/hiking boots, quality is evident

Very comfortable, according to my son who wore them to a Sweet 16 party - even though I actually bought them for hiking in upstate NY! No 'breaking in' period required, were comfy from 1st time wearing them. Waterproof, too. Pricy but worth it IMO. I have had a very good experience with this company, purchasing my own pair of beautiful riding boots months earlier, they are sturdy, gorgeous, & once again, waterproof. What's not to like? These shoes (& my boots) are extremely well made, with obvious care & quality materials. I do not mind paying for pricier, good quality footwear, as long as it stands up to the promises. And these do, 100% in my opinion.
