Most comfortable boots out of the box I've ever had

I bought several pairs of boots for a horse camping trip that I'm going on. I'll update after the trip, but of all the choices, these were the keepers. They have ankle support, a sole that I can hike or ride with (I hope), they're very attractive, and by god I have never worn any boots as immediately comfortable as these. The toe box is really roomy, so unlike a pointed cowboy boot (which I own several pairs of) they don't squeeze my toes or my bunions. They have great arch support. They don't rub my ankles. The first place I wore them was at a bridal bazaar for five hours, to break them in, and they were comfortable the entire time. No breaking-in necessary. I've worn them several times since, and they've got me thinking I should start wearing Ariats at work, because the hiking shoes I wear usually require a few days to break in and these were perfect right out of the box. Of course, everyone's feet are different, but color me impressed!Edit: they worked great on my honeymoon! We did 2-6 hours of riding (Western) each day, and the boots were very comfortable. We did a short hike, and they were ok for that. I think that for real hiking, boots with a lugged sole would be better, but these were not slippery. I also wore them in a fossil-digging quarry. They got all scuffed up, but I put some leather conditioner on them when I got home, and they look nice. A little more broken in. I think these will last me a long time.

Perfect fit for high arch, FINALLY!!

I have a really high arch and as much as I really needed pull on boots for work since I work with animals outside and don't like wet feet, this one has been great. My old Ariats were pull on and I have had them so long they looked terrible after all the abuse I gave them but still hung in there. Professionally I needed to look better so I tried on every pair of boots possible and still could NOT get my foot down the shaft of a boot, any of them!!! I decided to break down and get lace ups. I also worry a lot about the seams cutting into my bones as well and that would be the only thing that will need some breaking in is the stitching from the seam that rubs a little on the top of my arch but not bad at all. Other than that these shoes are pretty dang perfect. NO break in time, no blisters or sores and it has a decent insole so the lack of being able to fit my arch supports isn't as bad. In a perfect world those of us with high arches need inserts and that is impossible to find with boots anywhere, so if the boot isn't completely flat inside I have some hope for support and this one seems to be good on me so far. I did buy wide. Feet aren't sore at the end of a long working day, so mama is happy :) Thanks Ariat.

I really like the way the boots look and the quality of ...

I bought the first pair a half size smaller per some of the reviews, but had to send them back for my regular size of 8 1/2. I really like the way the boots look and the quality of the workmanship, etc. I"m still not quite sure I like how they fit me. They fit according to size and such, but they're taking quite awhile to break in and be comfortable. The leather is pretty stiff initially and with the embossed stitching across the toe area, it tends to crease across my toes and make them sore. I also got blisters in my heels in the beginning. I'm wearing them to work, on my feet all day, and the duration of time before I have to change to a different pair of shoes is getting longer. They're really cute and in the beginning of the day, comfortable so I'm hoping.

Beat expectations

These boots exceeded my expectations. As soon as I put them on, my feet felt so comfortable and supported. I had to buy them two sizes up but that’s because I have really wide, fat feet due to an illness. For the first time in months my feet were not in pain when I walked. I loved how the leather was authentic which I have come to expect from Ariat. Everything was excellent and spot on. I will definitely buy again.

Comfortable but issues

Although these boots fit good and are very comfortable, I have never had a lace up boot that bulges on the sides. This makes them look terrible. They make me look like I have a fat foot and one that has no shape. Thankfully, I always wear my jeans over them. I have very small, thin feet (size 5-6) and small ankles so I really like the lace ups. However, it has been incredibly hard to find any that hold up and look good anymore. I finally decided to try these even though they have a little different toe than I like and they are not quite as tall as I like. Don't get me wrong, they are very comfortable and fit pretty true to size (other than the bulges). One other thing with these is that the soles on them do not match. One sole is about an eighth of an inch thicker. While that doesn't seem like much, you do notice it when wearing them and it is visible to the eye.
