Don’t sleep on Arkbirds footwear!
This is the 3rd pair of Arkbirds I’ve been fortunate enough to review. The first 2 pairs I own have been great so I had high expectations for these and they do not disappoint.They came in a plain brown cardboard box, which seems underwhelming… but once you open it, each boot is in its own fabric bag - and it has a cardboard divider. This way, the boots are not damaged in transit.Having already owned many brown shoes/bootes, I went with the black this time and boy, do they look great! The upper is the same shade of black throughout but there’s a few layers of gray in the bottom sole that gives it a nice contrasting color. The zippers also break up the black so it doesn’t look too uniform. The outer zippers are largely for decoration but the inner zippers are functional, as they allow you to loosen up the shoes for easy insertion/removal. The zipper pull tabs have a nice, dark gray (gunmetal?) color to them that also match the eyelets & hooks. The laces are waxed (cotton?) & have a nice feel to them too. They were also of adequate length. The rear heel tab is patterned & is also a nice touch.That all said, I’d say the style of the shoes skew on the fancier side - may because they’re all black - but not something you’d wear on a job interview.I have my doubts that these are real leather, genuine, top grain or otherwise, as I do not detect any leather aroma - even if I hold them up to my nose.The construction of the shoe seems pretty good too. It’s glued construction but I was not hit with an aroma of shoe cement either. The insole seems stiff but will break in over time. The footbed is made of foam & doesn’t feel too cheap.When I first put them on, they did feel a bit on the stiff side. I’d say about an hour of wearing them, they were broken in & comfortable. They no longer felt tight & my feet were not hurting after wearing them all day. (side note: I ordered my usual size of 11 & felt they were true to size).Value for money: Shoes aren’t cheap these days regardless of tariff situation, but for $80, you could do a lot worse.Another W for Arkbirds - keep up the great work!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I love these shoes!!
Great quality, comfortable shoes! The leather feels flexible, soft, and good quality. My favorite feature for these shoes is the zip up sides and shoe strings. They work well together and make for a shoe that fits perfectly and is easy to get on and off.These shoes felt comfortable for walking right of the bat. I’m super happy as they have a nice classic look to them, but a modern design comfortable sole. Probably the most comfortable leather shoe I’ve ever had.These are great as I can wear them casually, when dressing up, or for different occasions. They have a hipster vibe going for them that is hard tj show in pictures but they are very stylish and a great leather brown color. I think they will go well and any pot of jeans or long pants or even some cute pants with suspenders and a tee. I love them. The boots look phenomenal. Great coffee color, soft leather and nice grip on the bottom sole. I really like the side zipper for quick on and off when your on the go.Design allows you to wear from casual dress to hanging out on the town.
