So pretty. I’m in love.
Bought for my partner, he absolutely loves it.
Great quality and comfort. Just like I remember from 50 years ago.
Exactly as described, quick shipping and a great price.
Only problem is that the Large size is really closer to a medium in American sizes. So I would suggest getting the next size up when in question.
These feel like the real thing, as far as I can tell. They definitely smell like real tatami mat. I made the mistake of trying a traditional Japanese futon setup in the past, including the tatami floor mat, so the smell is pretty on point. The bed didn't work out, but these sandals will! They appear very well made. The straps are a good quality material and the embroidery on them is nicely done. I wear a men's 9.5 and the sandals are a large (I'm guessing as there is an "L" on the bottom of them and I my order doesn't say a size). Any larger of a foot won't work well with this size I'm guessing as my heel can occasionally feel the edge of the back when walking in them. That might fix itself as the straps get a bit more worn in and relax more, allowing my foot to be more forward on the sandal.A bit pricey, but I feel it's a quality item and worth the money if it's something you're in the market for.
When I ordered these, I pictured myself putting on my kasa, grabbing my samurai sword, putting on my zoris, and living the secluded life of a ronin. Alas, my ninja-fighting days were numbered from the moment I tried to put these on the first time, because it was extremely painful to get them on my feet. I generally wear a 10 1/2 in tennis shoes, and these were not at all comfortable for me. It's like the toe strap wanted to hard-core dig into my toes, I don't know if the center toe strap was too short, or if the whole strap itself was too short, or what the problem was, but I had a red mark between my toes after wearing these for like 2 minutes. I just couldn't stand to wear them any longer. As I'm no expert in these sandals, I can't say for sure if there's something I'm MISSING with these, like, am I supposed to soak them in sake before wearing them? Or perhaps drink some? I really don't know. I only know that my feet, which are generally on the slender side of things, really hurt wearing these.Overall, the quality seemed really good, and I love the look of them. I just couldn't wear them. I wish I could.
