This is a good shoe for the price. Nothing fancy, but it fits well and is comfortable. Really like that it has rubber soles. Hate synthetic soles- too slick. Kids need traction for as fast as they can turn and move. Doesn't have much for arch support inside, but inserts can fix that, I suppose. They seem reasonably sturdy. They just might survive for a few months.
I got these for my son. First I ordered a size 5 but they were too tight. They kind of run small. I returned them and got the next size up. They fit perfect. My son says they are really comfortable and wants another pair of these when he grow out of this pair.
My son wanted to start running with us. He had Under Armor sneakers that really offered no support for his pronating feet. He came home from our first run with pain in his ankles. I immediately looked up running shoes for kids and found these. They were perfect. The heel support keeps his feet straight and the cushion is perfect. I will probably buy another pair for him and ditch those other, non-supportive sneakers. Buy without hesitation for running or just for a good pair of supportive sneakers.
Great shoe but as other reviewers have written, photo on Amazon doesn’t match product for closure type. Photo shows Velcro (the whole reason I bought these for my elements school aged child) but they are lace up. It does SAY lace up under closure type in description so this is completely my bad for assuming the photo was an actual representation of the product. Bummer though.
My kid’s last shoes are size 4.5, so I ordered 5.5 first, but I underestimated how fast my son grows last summer. 5.5 is way too tight, so I changed to size 6.5, they are a little bit large, but there is no space between heels and shoes, the shoes design is very well and wrap my son’s feet just right. I believe these pair can last at least half year. It’s a good purchase. My son loves them!
My son has fairly wide feel and although this doesn't come in a wide, I tried it because we've bought other Asics and they've fit great. The shoe is lightweight, so perfect for running, PE, or just the average school day. The fabric makes it very breathable, so my son's feet don't get too hot or smelly. The tread on the bottom is enough so that he doesn't slip when the ground is wet and he gets a grip on the grass or dirt when he's running. This is my 3rd time buying an ASICS running shoe for my son and I haven't been disappointed yet.
Very good running shoes. My daughter uses them a lot, have been washed by hand and in the washing machine and they are without a tear, keeping the nice color and still very comfortable.
