I keep ordering these because they are excellent

The ASICS GT-2000 is a great shoe for overpronators who like to run moderate distances and don't want to pay through the nose for elite shoes. Durable, well designed, comfortable, fit as promised. Just a great trainer for the average runner. I order a new pair about every six to 12 months and run about 20 miles a week in them. I weigh 215 and am 6' 1", so they hold up well for this moderately fast Clydesdale.

Great shoe!

I saw some negative reviews on this shoe, and am confused by them. I have had a great experience with this shoe. I run about 4 miles every other day - so 12-16 miles/week? Not a ton, so maybe others are just putting a ton of mileage on them. Mine have held up great so far. I have been wearing the GT-2000 for years (since 2007), and each new model has always done really well for me. I don't walk long distance in them - only run. I do see a lot of walkers have negative reviews on here, so perhaps that's the issue. They fit a little more snug than my last pair, but I think running shoes should be a little more snug to reduce movement -- I think that might be causing some of the mesh rips that people are seeing. If your toes are pushing up on the mesh, your shoe is definitely too big! But overall, the fit is good! I use them with elastic drawstring shoestrings, and they work wonders.Overall, highly recommended for you intermediate runners out there! :-)

Still good, but not great

I run regularly, and exclusively in Asics. I hadn't had a pair of GT-2000 in a couple years. They were on sale so I decided to pick up a pair. What I like:The shoes are likeI like the colors and designVery breathableComfortableLaces stay tiedWhere the shoes lack:Arch support could be betterThe toe box is smaller than previous versionsMy foot slides slightly in the shoeWant longer lacesI am a heavy guy and these have held up well so far. Not sure if I would re-buy, but I am not unhappy with my purchase. For the price I paid, $59.99, you can't beat them.

Very Comfortable and Nice!

These shoes are extremely comfortable and dependable for all day standing and or walking such as walking across town or city sight seeing. These shoes have great shock absorption to limit fatigue, making you feel great still even at the end of the day.

Solid running shoes for overpronated feet

I've bought Asics exclusively for my running shoes for the past decade and I am pleased with this purchase. I'm a size 14, though I run on the smaller side of 14, so Asics running a little small is not an issue. There was a break in period of 2-3 runs, but since then they've been ideal. I'm a big guys (6'2", 240lb) so I need great shoes to run in. These fit the bill. Highly recommended.

Fit just like my other GT-2000's going back years

I've been wearing GT-2000 shoes going back to the beginning. As someone with hard feet to fit, arches that need support, and toes that tend to splay a bit, I've struggled with other brands; so once I found something that fit, I've stuck with them. So far, after a few weeks' wearing these new ones, I can already tell that they fit just like the old ones (which are still in great shape after a couple of years, and are now the wear-outside-in-the-rain pair). Unlike some shoes that need a lot of breaking in and tend to warp and conform only after weeks' worth of wearing and breaking in, I find that the Asics fit pretty consistently from beginning to end. They're comfortable enough that I wear them as my "daily drivers" rather than just as running shoes. At this point, I'll probably continue to buy them as long as they continue to make them and don't change the fit....

Great shoe with some problems that should have been prevented

I've had my Asics GT-2000 6 shoes for around 6 months; maybe a little more. They fit great in terms of length and width, but the toe box is really short and pushes down on my toenails. This is a real shame because they are otherwise the best Asics I've had in years in terms of how they feel under my feet. Because they are a bit uncomfortable to wear on my toes, I have not used them as much as I would have otherwise, so I can't say if the durability issues others have had would be an issue for me. I've worn them more than most who have had problems, but not in the kind of use that might stress them because they are simply only comfortable enough to walk around in casually. Any running and my toes start to hurt from the nails being pushed down.As I said, these are the most comfortable Asics I've had in years if you take the toe box fit out of the equation, so I'm torn between moving on or trying a half size bigger. I've tried some on and they still fit within the normal parameters, even though I've never had Asics in that size before. I think that these may just run a quarter size smaller than Asics normally are. It's possible that the others with mesh tearing are similarly buying their normal size and they are under too much tension from being a little too small. I've had Asics since the first Gel Lyte back in the mid-80s and I've always worn a 10.5, but maybe these just need to be an 11.Hard to recommend these to anyone, even though I do like a lot about them. They were almost the best Asics I've every had, but are almost the worst.
