Great shoes!! This is my third pair!

I have HOKAs and these and love both but feel these are softer than my HOKAS. Great fit, wider toe box so very comfortable at end of long run or full day on your feet.

With UPDATE! Life-changing comfort for this runner!

UPDATE: After a little over 600 miles, the soles are still in great shape, the cushioning is feeling a bit of compression (but it’s still good), yet the exterior cloth near my big toe is wearing out. (Picture added) I’ve had this problem with previous ASICS: always the same area. My foot isn’t unnaturally large there, but I do a lot of turning in my daily runs, and I’m wondering if rub one foot against the other? I’m not sure, but my sock is about to burst through. I’m sad because the rest of the shoe should have a few hundred miles left.I’ve run about 150 miles in these ASICS Gel-Nimbus 26 shoes, and I need to tell you about them. It’s important.A little background: I finally admitted I need more cushion in my running shoes. This isn’t a crutch—it’s a necessity. My metatarsal was in pain, my knees were aching (not because I’m 56, thank you very much), and running was just making everything hurt. So I set aside my longtime ASICS Gel-Cumulus and gave the (true-to-size) Nimbus a try.My first run? Lots of stopping and retying the laces. But once I realized I could’ve just compared them to my old ASICS, that trial-and-error could’ve been avoided. But once I got going, wow.You know that feeling when you finally crawl into bed after a long day—clean sheets, cozy mattress, and you actually sigh out loud? That’s what the Gel-Nimbus 26 felt like. No break-in period. Just instant comfort. These shoes truly welcomed my feet.I thought I’d run a couple of miles in the new pair and then switch back to my trusty Gel-Cumulus for comparison. Big mistake. The moment I put the Cumulus back on and started running, it felt like my joints were going to shatter. I had no idea how much better my feet and legs could feel—until I ran in the Nimbus.Over the last month and a half, these shoes have been absolute game-changers. I’ll head out planning to run five miles and end up doing eight. Or ten. Or twelve. Everyone around me is probably tired of hearing about these shoes and how more cushion can truly affect running performance, but I can’t help it. They’ve literally changed my life as a runner.

Great for road and trail

Great for road and trail! Held up good on the road, but got holes in the toes on trails (downhills). Color is cute. Very comfortable and springy.

Good quality

Lightweight even in size 11, great support for back and feet. Good quality, stylish and offered in an array of colors. Fit is a little smaller than my normal size because your foot sits a little more forward. I ordered 1/2 size up. Also my foot is a little narrower than medium and these fit well. Recommended for me by local running shoe store because I have plantar fasciitis as well as neuropathy in feet from a L5/S1 herniated disc. I was told these shoes are made specifically for plantar fasciitis and with additional cushion on this year’s model it also gives great cushiony comfort. I wear these daily with an athletic memory foam inner sole for even more comfort and support. The price is in line with other major shoe manufacturers. Amazon offers more color variety than my local shoe store and sometimes a lower price. I would highly recommended for runners, walkers or anyone on their feet for long periods.

The Gel-Nimbus 26 Knit upper material wears out quickly

There’s simply no comparison between the Gel-Nimbus 26 and earlier versions of the Gel-Nimbus. The earlier models hold up far better in terms of durability. The key reason is the design and material change, which explains why I (and many others) have experienced holes forming in the Gel-Nimbus 26 within the first couple months of wear. Here is a breakdown for you:1. Material DifferenceThe Gel-Nimbus 26 (knit upper):The knit is designed for a sock-like fit and comfort, but knit fabrics tend to stretch and fray under repeated flexion. Without protective overlays in the toe area, the material wears out quickly.2. Flex & Friction Stress-When you walk or run, the toe box bends and creases with every step.-Mesh tends to “give” a bit without tearing, while knit fibers separate and thin out over time, especially at stress points.-If your toe shape or gait causes even light upward pressure, the knit upper is more vulnerable.3. Design Trade-Off-ASICS likely emphasized lightweight breathability and modern aesthetics with the knit, but sacrificed structural reinforcement.-The Gel-Nimbus 26 lacks some of the durability elements (extra layers, synthetic overlays) that earlier mesh versions had.4. Why the Issue Shows Quickly-Knit + no overlay = faster hole development.-That’s why you’re seeing reviews of holes within just months of wear — it’s not heavy use, it’s simply the material/design choice. In short:The Gel-Nimbus 26’s softer knit upper prioritizes comfort but can’t withstand the same flexing pressure — especially at the toe box.

Great shoes! Love Asics.

I only wear Asics shoes, they are the best for my poor feet. I need good arch support and cushioning, and shoesthat don't throw me over. Other brands I was getting a few weeks out of the shoes, Asics brand I get several months.Great colors. These Nimbus 26 shoes have been discontinued, but I was lucky to find this pair in my size. They did come in a box, not a shoe box but in a plastic bag, but the shoes were perfect. So happy I found them.
