Good shoes in fun colors
I’ve been wearing ASICS brand for years, and this pair did not disappoint! I love the colors, the fit is average, they have great traction, and they’re comfortable. I normally wear a narrow width, but these are decent in a medium. I am sure they’ll be fine for someone who wears a medium width, but wide feet will probably be too snug in them. Somehow, they are breathable but also hold the smell of sweaty feet. I’m guessing they would do better in that area if I had some moisture-wicking material in my socks, but I usually wear compression socks to exercise.

My podiatrist recommended Asics (instead of Clarks as that company has gone down in quality over the years) based on my wider feet, love of walking, and neutral gait.I moved to hiking country and have spinal issues to contend with, so I decided to give Asics a try and leave my 30-yr loyalty to Clark's.SUPPORTWOW. In comparison to my newer Clark walking shoes, the Asics Trabuco hiking shoes significantly reduce the pressure on my disks and joints. My feet are convinced they are walking on clouds.Excellent support throughout and not just in the arch, heel, or ball. My step is easier and glides.THE FITThey fit smaller than Clark's. Compared to most shoes, these are wider with a roomy toe-box. The mesh toe helps allow air to flow, but my feet still get warm in the high desert mountains. (This one breathes better than most, but a little more would be nice.)THE LOOKThey look and are clunky. The bottoms have deep traction grooves at different angles to maximum grip on varying terrain. The color is bold. I'm used to subdued colors. I thought these would be a darker purple but they are a bright purple color - like the inside of the blackberry, not the outside.(Black wasn't an option so I had to step outside my comfort zone, but I've received a lot of complements on the color. It is pretty.)RUNNING/ HIKINGI can't speak to running, but these shoes have better support than my Clark shoes and traction as good as my Timberland hiking boots.For scrambling or advanced hikes requiring a rigid, steel toe box, I'll use my Timberlands. For everything else outdoors, these are my go-to shoe.FINAL VERDICTIf you experience pain from standing or walking but love to walk and/or hike, get these shoes. Look good, feel better.
