Very lightweight, works on AZ desert trails
Everyone has their own particular foot issues... I've always worn a heavier, stiffer boot for hiking the rocky AZ trails, but some foot issues forced me to try more of a trail "trainer" shoe. I tried this and that and finally found this Trabuco running shoe to have a thick enough sole for the trails but the flex I now need. I did replace the insoles with a sturdier insole from a hiking store, cut to my exact size. I like this and a couple other lighter Asics for the gym as they fit my foot well. I call them peanut-shaped; the heel and mid-section of the shoes hold my foot in place but the toe box is wider so when my feet are sweating after several miles my toes are happy. Many shoes are too wide for me from heel to toe; I may as well just wear the box.... I wear this shoe in a 9.5, my normal shoe sz is prob 8.5 to 9. My foot is medium width but not much fat on it. I can comfortably hike up to 12 miles in these. Haven't done a longer hike, yet. They seem to be wearing well. I usually hike 700+ miles per year and buy a new shoe/boot after 300+ miles, but it seems these may last a wee bit longer, at least with my own sturdier insoles. I figured they would not last that long as they're so light. BTW I bought an Asics similar to this shoe but waterproof; same report as above and they stood up to some real downpours in the UK this spring. Good luck!

I heart everything about this show! I have some feet problems and this shoe allows me workout for hours without ever thinking about my feet. I love the laces, too! Those who complain about these laces must not understand how to use them. I wish all shoes had laces like these! I hope Asics doesn't stop making this model. I have three pairs of this shoe now -- although the first pair I bought over a year ago -- still is a solid shoe -- very durable. And not only is it very comfortable -- it is a great looking shoe, too.

Great looking but super snug
I have other ASICS and not all of them have the same fit for my shoe size (10). I LOVE the look of these shoes though I don't usually buy black "sneakers". They are just very cool and I was really looking forward to getting them but now I'm bummed and will return them.First I almost couldn't get my foot into them even the laces as loose as they'd go. I have purchased LOCK Laces no-tie laces for several pairs of tennies and I like them but these have no stretch in them so there was simply no give as far as getting more room to put them on. Requires a shoe horn, for me at least.Once on, these darned things are really snug - they are tight. There's no way they are truly a size 10. I have way too many other shoes including ASICS in that size as a comparison. For me to be able to wear these I'd need at least a 10.5 Wide, and they don't come in wide, and I might actually need an 11.I get that for trail running or just hiking a good fitting shoe is best but this is way beyond that, they are just plain undersized. That said, they may work well for some people in their usual size. Everyone's feet ar different, but since I have other shoes in my size that are far different in length and width, these shoes are the anomaly.Will I bother to try them in an 11? I really love the look of them and I just might, but for sure these 10s are going back and I'll have to decide while I pack them up whether to risk a second disappointment if 11s are too tight too.In any case, you may want to go up a half size. I don't think most people would be sorry.

Very narrow so order one size bigger.
Great cushioning but so narrow it made my foot numb. Had to return it! Wish they made a wide size. Update. Ordered a 9.5 when my size is 8.5. Fits great. Love this shoe!!! Follow up. 6 mo of use. Super comfortable but my toe wore through the fabric mesh. Had to patch it. Now another hole by the side of my foot. Need more reinforcement!

Small toe box, great cushion
This fits like the gel nimbus in the toe box. I always go up 1/2 in ASICS and still toe box is too small. I kept them for the tread which provides additional comfort and a boost in height, very supportive for exercise.
