That's probably because, for some unknown reason, my Mother, with whom I had a close relationship while growing up into an adult, also had a deep passion for shoes. Somehow and unbeknownst to me, other than the fact that like my wife, she had great fashion and style awareness, I grew to respect her keen, dedicated special interest in shoes - - as I even accompanied her on several of her footwear seeking excursions owing to my curiosity of how she 'targeted' the shoe store venues and the best styles and prices at the current market rates (almost on a weekly basis).As 'fate would have it', and as a member of Amazon's Vine Voice reviewer program team, I often receive queries as to my interest in reviewing women shoe products. How ironic life can be, as I've often 'jumped' at those offers not only to accommodate my wife (whose taste in shoes I've by now gotten to know well), but I guess I also harbor a love for my Mom and many of the things that she enjoyed while alive. These Amazon shoe opportunities also serve as a kind of 'throwback' remembrance of how I used to follow her around from store to store, and now I'm so appreciative of the Internet and the likes of an Amazon to make the shopping experience so much more thorough and economical. Today's 'winner' is my wife, so here are some of her reactions to this shoe/slipper pair that she's fast become to love and adore:1) She emphatically states that these 'ballerina-like' flats, are easily the most practical and comfortable footwear items in her fast burgeoning collection. I know she's not trying to appease me with her positives just for my intended subsequent review effort of them, but rather because I've come to notice how many times a week she wears them to her workplace office employment. Of all the items I've successfully procured for her over the years on Amazon, it's a given for me that the outright 'winners' are those that she most often wears - - and thus these little, cute, knitted pieces of 'walking gear' have proven to be 'manna from heaven' for her. It gives me great pleasure in knowing that I originally was the one who sourced and 'steered' them her way.2) I would most suppose that the high, intense comfort level comes from the unique feature that these items are, inexplicably (for shoes), 'super flexible and easily 'twistable'. Yes, I said twistable, as in taking either one of them in your hand and wringing them around your hands, just like wringing out a wet piece of laundry. I'm no engineer nor chemist, but something in the material constituents of these shoes allows for such ultimate wearer flexibility. Kudos to whoever came up with this novel footwear application approach.3) Re the above twistability/flexibility bonus, these shoes are further 'shocking' in that they can be machine washed. Once again, I don't know how they did it, but for sure my 'hat's off' to them.4) Besides being soft, supple and flexible, these shoes come with extra padding (memory Polyurethane foam) on the insoles, further evidence that these shoes are the 'real deal' in every manner and form.5) I invite any non-believers out there who are contemplating a potential Amazon purchase of these shoe marvels, to take a look at this vendor's Amazon marketing webpage for this product, and you'll readily see in visual graphic photo form many of the benefits inherent in these wondrous pair of shoes.
These were way cushier than I expected, and the toe box is actually comfortable. The only pair of Rothy’s I own is from ages ago, so maybe the newer ones feel different, but mine have always had a pretty unforgiving toe box. These don’t do that to me, which already puts them ahead.They also sit a bit higher on the foot than my Rothy’s, so they’re not exact dupes. But if your dress pants cover the top of the shoe anyway, the overall look is basically the same — just without that little blue heel stitch Rothy’s is known for.Support-wise, these did better than I thought they would. My arch felt more supported than in my Rothy’s (again… old pair, but still). It’s not dramatic, but it made a difference for a full workday. And if you’re someone who always wants more arch support, there’s room to add a thin insert. Breathability was solid too. My no-show liners stayed dry, and flats love to fail that test.I wore these for a full office day and did way more walking than I usually do. They stayed comfortable, and nothing slipped or rubbed. My toes started to feel it a bit toward the end of the day, but it was literally their first wear and I was putting in extra steps. They’ll loosen up after a couple more outings.They look nicer on the foot than the listing photos — less boxy, more streamlined — and the tiny heel is barely noticeable. For the price, these are absolutely worth trying, and I’d pick up another color without thinking too hard about it.
