Sturdy, Warm, Comfortable and Lightweight Boots

I really like these boots after using them for a couple of winters. They're sturdy, so you can easily slide your feet into the sock lining and walk around without lacing them all the way up. When I take them hunting I do ace them all the way, use an extra pair of heavy socks, and my feet stay warm and comfortable. I followed the advice of others and went up one size to allow room for heavy socks and to still give your toes a little space. I've come to realize your feet get cold faster if your boots are too tight. These boots are well made in Myanmar (Burma) and surprisingly light weight for being such a big boot.

Best boots I've ever owned.

Have been a LaCrosse boot fan my entire life. The pac boot type with the felt liners. But, I'm getting older and they're so clunky and heavy. And I didn't want anything with natural rubber because it ALWAYS cracks. I usually beat a dead horse when I buy something and researched them all. LaCrosse, Baffin, Rocky, Kamik and the other popular Canadian brand. (Can't think of it right now)I chose these and they are the best boots I have ever owned. They are the warmest and lightest by far. I stand on the ice a lot and very seldom feel any cold. And don't listen to the other reviews that say to buy a size or two bigger. A size 9 is a size 9 for me. They fit perfectly. The liners are unbelievable. I can't see them ever wearing out like the felt type.Yes, they're tight as hell the first time you wear them but after one or two times they settle in like all shoes and boots. I highly recommend these.

Super warm boots. Kind of bulky though.

These boots are great. Super warm liners will keep your toes toasty in the worst weather. They are very light considering how large they are. Worth every penny. These are replacing a set of Sorell boots I've used for the last 10 years. Sorell boots aren't as high quality as they used to be, so I tried these out. I spend a lot of time in the outdoors in the Colorado Rockies during the winter, so I needed a durable replacment boot. These did the trick. Overall I'm happy with them. They fit to size. If you're a 10, order a 10. They're a little bit large to allow for thicker socks. There's a few things you should be aware of though.Pros:Memory foam liner can be replaced, but you will need to break it in to the shape of your foot. It will feel tight at first. VERY squishy liner will accomodate thick winter socks though. The quality of construction is fantastic. Triple stitching around all seems. The tread is amazing, even on ice. I didn't need to use crampons to get traction on icy slick surfaces. There's a shelf on the back of the boot for use with snow shoes. The finger loop is large enough to use with gloves on, and will help you get the boots on.Lots of inslulation, and will keep your foot toasty warm.True to size with room to spare.Cons:The boot is only waterproof up to the ankle level. The tongue of the boot is completely open on the sides from the ankle level to the top. This makes it easier to put the boot on, but will allow slush/water in. Not too happy about that, but it hasn't happened to me yet.The boot is too large to allow use of most gaitors. These have a LOT of insulation, and are very bulky at the top.The hardware loops used for the laces doesn't seem like they're very strong. I've heard that they can pop out. Hasn't happened to me yet though. Not too worried about that happening though. You will need to break in the memory foam liner. This will feel tight on your foot for the first few uses. Just keep walking around in them and they will conform to your foot shape. The laces are pretty short. You may need to replace them with longer ones.No mounting point D ring for gaitors like there is on the sorelle, and the Baffin Snow Monster boots. There's no gusset flap on the top of the boot like there is on the Sorelles to keep snow out. Not a big problem, unless you're going through very deep snow. But that's why you bought these boots right?Overall, I'm happy with my purchase, and would reccomend them.

China made boot, cleverly parlayed as America/Canada made.

This company goes to great lengths to disguise the fact that this is a China made boot. The only place you'll find the truth is on the inside boot flap. Other than that... it's warm, light, seems very well made... good boot.

Buy them a size large

1. They are warm, which is the main thing. Snowblowing in single digit F temperatures (sitting on a tractor, not walking), and working outside at -10 F with a lot of wind, they kept my feet nice and warm.2. Buy them a size large. I wear 11, bought 12; I could easily wear them with just normal socks, but the liners are squishy enough that I can also put on heavy socks. I don't think I could do that with 11s.3. One review said they were too big to walk in comfortably. I disagree. I think they are pretty nimble for a cold-weather boot, and lighter than most others I've had.4. My criticisms are the laces are a little hard to draw up and release, and the top doesn't close up very well. If you have to work in deep snow, you need gaiters or snowpants pulled down over them to keep the snow out.My biggest complaint about boots in general the last few years is they are made poorly and fall apart quickly. Too soon to tell about these.Overall, these are fine and I recommend them.

Great boots, but not for walking long distances

I was looking for a boot that would keep my feet warm while playing outside in the snow with my kids and snowblowing/shoveling. Work boots were just not cutting it. These were recommended to me by a coworker who uses them for snow-mobiling so i gave them a shot. Wow are they warm. I was in knee high snow for an hour and my feet were still warm as ever.I will point out that these are not made for walking long distances. They are pretty large and although not a lot of weight to them, they do feel heavy in deep snow. They go up to my mid-calf so walking a lot causes them to rub and dig in a little around my ankle. Perhaps that's just because they are new, but I dont plan to go hiking with them so it fits my needs perfectly.I wear a size 11.5 shoe and these in 12 were a perfect fit out of the box.
