Great Boots
This is my first time purchasing a boot, my parents always did it for me so I didn't really know the sizes so I took a big guess on this. I chose a size 10 since I'm a size 10 shoe, and I believe I did good on it. They do feel kind of snug but I'm thinking it's because of all the padding. These are also light weight, I showed them to my dad since he typically don't like these kind of boots. He seems to really like these ones because of the weight of them. But, that being said I still have some trouble walking in them. It does not bother me since I don't run in the snow but if you're on dry ground you may find yourself needing to take bigger steps than normal. They are predicting the 2012 northeast winter (where I live) to be bad, and after I seen the snow we got a few days ago BEFORE winter even set in I decided to get these so I would not regret it later on in the winter. I would also like to add that these snow boots are really warm, I cannot wear them inside to long or else I find myself starting to get hot. Also, I seen that the padding is removable. I've tried to remove some but I'm unable to do so. If anyone knows how to do this let me know because it seems like it's attached to the boot pretty tightly. Now for the strap. The strap in my opinion is not really useful since it don't really seem to keep it tight enough where the snow won't go down inside of it. In this case I would suggest bringing a few extra pairs of socks with you if you're going to be out in the snow somewhere. You could also wear a snow bib which would help prevent snow from going down inside of the boot. The boot seems to also reflect light, which is good if you're in the dark. I didn't even know it had this until someone said something to be about it.The traction on the bottom of this boot is also really great! I cannot wait to try it out when it gets really snowy this winter.Overall I really like these boots compared to the other $140 pair I was looking at that was rated for -100F. I think I did pretty good on the purchase, though if you're going by your shoe size I would try one size up just to be safe since its kind of snug around your feet. I can see how that would get annoying after walking around for long hours if it's not meant to be that way. If you have any questions about the boot feel free to comment and I will respond as soon as I can.

Realistic point of view here (neither optimist nor pessimist)
I haven't worn them long enough. I haven't used them yet this winter for a really cold temperatures because there hasn't really been very cold temperatures I mean below 33 degrees F yet in my area of the planet. However, they fit comfortably and I like that they function very similar to snow skiing boots. I would give 5-stars if I KNEW for certain how they really perform in cold weather, but for now, I'll take the company's word that they tested these boots in cold weather already and that they work, however I KNOW that if something can go wrong well than it probably could. Meaning there is probably a 1 in 10 million chance that they arrived with some kind of defect. Maybe I should wait until I after I've tested these this pair of boots, but yeah,... I also thought if I don't start reviewing now, will I ever start, will I ever get this done? I review products, but not often. I think I may update this after I've tested this pair. Let me just give you the reasons again why I like these boots so far:* They are comfortable (they fit right)* I think they can handle two pairs of snow socks (or thermal socks) instead of the one pair of socks I could only use with my older size 8 boots.* I went for size 9 boot because I commonly wear size 8 1/2 shoes and snickers all the time.* These boots are less likely to come off my feet if I were to run or jog with these boots. My older pair of boots sometimes felt like they were about to fall off my feet. Those are the reasons. So far (meaning at the present or moment) these snow boots meet my expectations.April 2017, update: These boots work as advertised. In the cold snow they keep my feet warm and don't feel like they'll fall off when walking through powdered snow.

They run small and they don't have half-sizes!
I always wear a size 10 boot, so that's what I ordered. Unfortunately these run small, and my toes were touching the front of the boots wearing normal socks (1 star deduction for the size issue). Ended up having to return them and ordered an 11. Had to order them in a different color as they didn't have the camo ones in stock for an 11. So the 11's fit like a regular size 10 winter boot normally fits me. Initial thoughts are they fit really well and have great flexibility despite being a big and bulky boot. They are also insanely easy to put on and take off! Never had a pair of boots they were anywhere near this easy to put on. They do feel pretty warm from my initial test fit, but it's still only September and I won't be really wearing these until snow starts flying and the temps drop below zero, so I'll update my review once I've had time to really put them to work. But I'm very optimistic about them working for me and being a great boot for my cold winter hunts!*UPDATE*Ran these last year and forgot to update my review. These boots are great! Super comfy and super warm. Just keep in mind, if you aren't moving around, no boot is going to keep your feet warm. You need to be moving around so you get blood circulation to your extremities. On my long whole day sits during hunting, these were great. I do use heated socks, but with these boots, I can run them on the lowest setting to keep my feet warm. With my other winter boots, I'd need to run them on the medium or even high setting. Walking around, they are a bit bulky and clunky. This was expected simply because of how much padding and insulation in them. I'd say it's kind of like walking around in snowboard boots, albeit not nearly as bad. Regular boots are easier to walk in obviously. So you won't be running marathons in them lol. But they are great boots. I still stand by the 4 star review simply because they do run small and don't have half sizes. This could cause an issue for some people. I wear a size 10 boot normally, and have room in them. With regular everyday socks, the size 10 of these boots were just too small and my toes touched the front of the boots. I would expect this from a size 9 boot normally. I had to go to an 11. But say you normally would wear a size 10.5 boot. If you buy the size 11 Baffin boot, they may be too small. Then you'd need to go to a size to a 12. Those then may be too big and won't fit right even with a thicker stock. So I really think they need to offer half sizes as these won't fit everyone.
