Great boot for skinny feet

I bought these boots for every day wear and well I can’t regret it. I was hesitant about buying them because of the reviews. These are good boots and because my feet are skinny they fit pretty well. If you wear converse or shoes similar then these boots would fit you perfectly. The problems? One is the zipper. They are abit hard to unzip but with some Vaseline they zip perfectly. So it easily can be worked around for that problem. The waterproofing is limited. Not fully waterproof. If you want to make it fully waterproof. Spray it with some protective coating so it can keep your feet dry while in the water. Only downside of doing that is breathability. My last one would be comfort but they are really comfortable. If your on your feet all day they are okay as long as your moving around. If your standing in one spot for hours without taking a step then you will feel abit uncomfortable but not painful. So make sure you are doing something other than standing still. I’m on my feet for 8 to 12 hours depending on what I’m doing in or after work. So for 4 hours and maybe an hour of doing nothing but standing in place is pretty good.my last suggestion for people with abit wider fee would be to get thinner socks or breathable socks. Ankle high or higher.

Good boots, but not as perfect as before

I've had 2 pairs of Bates boots in the last 10 years, and for me at least it has been very hard to match their comfort and lightweight feel. I walk a lot for work and some work boots are just too heavy to be in for a long time while also moving. Bates is my #1 go to for boots, I love them for work and hiking. These boots are nice and solid, and seem to be even lighter than the previous iterations. We'll see in the long term how they hold up. The issue is the tight fit of getting them on. At least when new, getting your foot in is very tough. With the laces loosened pretty far and the zipper down it was a fight to get them on, and the omission of the fabric loop (that previous Bates boot had) on the back made it tougher than it needs to be. The point of the side zip was to get the boots on and off relatively quickly, but if you have to unlace the boot so much, what's the point? They will probably break in but I don't recall needing to do so on my other pairs. Also Bates please stock more of your inventory in some brick and mortar stores. I thought it was going to help more knowing my previous size from other boots, but the sizing may have changed slightly (some people said it has), and trying shoes on in a store was just so much easier. DSW used to stock the basics but now they don't seem to, at least in my area.Overall, nice boots, but you won't be slipping them on and off as quickly as older models. Also an FYI, they are Made in Bangladesh, my last boots were Made in China.

Comfortable fit

Boots are a very comfortable fit and are built to last. Easy to slip on and off with the side zipper option. Very good ankle support.

Great boots for the price

These look a feel great, the size was right what I was expecting. They are not heavy but not air weight either. These are well made and I think they should last a long time

Uncomfortable Boots, have to be Seconds

These boots must be seconds. I ware 71/2 but had to get these in 81/2. After a month they have started hurting my feet. there's no arch support in them. I've worn Bates boots for years with no problems. They have always been great boots and lasted for years and I'm on my feet a lot. Now I've got find another brand of boots. Don't buy from this dealer, go directly to Bates online or a boot store. now I'm out $180+ dollars.

Disappointed.

I purchased in the past and was very satisfied. I purchased new boots in January 2025 and they have begun to fall apart. The zipper gets stuck and the front leather had pealed off. Hope this is helpful.
