These slippers are warm and cozy. I purchased them as a Christmas present for my husband, and he loves them. They combine the usual great support of a Birk with the wide toe box and slip on convenience you expect from a clog or slipper. They feature a gum type sole and wool uppers either sheepskin lining.
My male foot size is an exact 9, but the size 9 in this slipper was too small. I had to repurchase at a size 10 (43). Also, this slipper comes with a note card from Birkenstock indicating that the slipper is not for outside wear. The note card indicated that the outside elements and wetness could deteriorate the slipper. This slipper is not made with an actual added sole which I find to be concerning because sometimes you want to have the luxury of going inside/outside when wearing your shoes. Love the slipper otherwise. Not for outside use, unfortunately, no sole. Hope this helps.
