One of the lightest harness on the market with a 5th gear loop but almost half the cost of arc'teryx AR-395a (comparable). Black diamond build quality is great. I thought the size is a bit big. Got a large and I have a 35" waist. At that size it's not completely tight when the straps are pulled tight but still secure.
I ordered these for myself, and they’re so much better than my last climbing shoes which were so tight that I was only able to climb for about 20 mins before I was in excruciating pain. I wear a size 11 in women’s for reference and I got these in a men’s size 10 and they’re great! A little bit of space in the heel when I’ve got my weight on my toes, but I’ve not had my issues with them and they’re very comfortable to climb in!
Great shoes with big advantage over rental shoes. I ordered my normal size and were very tight in the beginning but loosened up after a couple of weeks. They're still tight but not uncomfortable and feel like I have ample control when climbing. Since I don't wear socks it would be nice if the tongue had some padding or softer fabric since the material is pretty rough. Not a major issue but would be a nice to have.
These are great! Synthetic/Vegan. Don’t waste your time with aggressive shoes unless you’re climbing V9. I climb V4/5 bouldering and these haven’t skipped a beat. I’m replacing my old pair because I climbed a hole through the toe after 10 months use in a gym about 2.5 days/week. Great for outdoor use too!
Love these! First off, I know these are men’s but I’m a woman and these fit fine. I also want to mention about this seller that phew! They are patient! I had to return them two times to get a bigger size. Thanks for being patient! The last ones fitted perfectly. They have two Velcro straps that secure your feet without being overwhelming. There are two loops in the back that allow you to put them on with ease and secure them to a line without much movement. Worth the purchase!
I bought this harness for Alpine use on Rock and Ice. BD stated on the product description "Limestone sport routes, granite big walls, steep ice and alpine faces—for those who climb it all, all year long". The gear loops look large and stable in the picture. They are quite stable, but they are tiny. You can barley rack anything on this harness, let alone an alpine rack. The Ice Clippers from BD that first this harness are way to small, and the front two are way to far forward. Placing ice screws in this position is a great way to stab yourself in the top of your leg.From the pictures, I had assumed this was the harness I was dreaming of. I tore open the package without care, now I can't return. Total waste of money. I have relegated it to being my gym harness, but it sucks at even that.I love most all of my BD gear. This is just an utter disappointment.
BD is great at making something amazing and then ruining it a year later. Prime example. Get this version while they are still available...
