First climbing shoes I don’t hate

Recently got into indoor climbing, the loaners they give suck so I needed my own. First pair I tried (the tarantula I think) was terrible, I couldn’t wait to tear them off.This pair feels pretty good, it’s a tight fit of course but it’s not uncomfortable. I like the pointed, hard toe, makes it easy to stand on those little nibs in the wall. I’m happy with these shoes, they’re a great choice for beginners who want to take the sport more seriously. Size is true, I’m normally a 9.5 and these fit perfectly

I’m a beginner climber and have been using these for indoor climbing 2-3x a week since I started a few months ago and they’re great so far. I went half a size down and will go further down next time I buy - these are tight enough for my level of climbing but I could definitely go smaller for more control. (I’m a ski racer though so foot pain doesn’t even register with me anymore)

Almost Perfect – Great Shoe with a Tight Fit

These Black Diamond climbing shoes are awesome overall. The grip is fantastic, and they give me a lot of confidence on both indoor and outdoor climbs. My only complaint is how tight they feel around the toes—it can get uncomfortable, especially on longer sessions. Definitely best worn without socks. Once they break in, they feel much better, but just be prepared for that snug fit at the start. Still, a solid climbing shoe worth the investment!

Amazing!

These feel good compared to the rental ones. I used to only be able to do the easiest color at the gyms because I kept falling off. The first time I wore them I could see a better performance with my balance, grip, and comfort. I was able to go up a color/level and it felt amazing. After talking to other rock climbers these are the best for beginners and for people who aren't in competitions or on a real mountain.

Great rock climbing shoe

I bought these for my friend's birthday who does indoor rock climbing. She loved the shoes. Make sure to size down when you are purchasing. I had to exchange two times in order to get the right size to fit right. My friend is a size 8 and she usually goes down half a size for her rock climbing shoes but I had to go all the way down to a 7 for it to fit properly. So definitely size down when you are purchasing!

Versatile and supportive

Lots of reviews saying these run incredibly small. I would call that an exaggeration. If you are new to climbing, know that climbing shoes are meant to be snug. Almost like a harder sock. I usually wear 7.5-8, and after reading reviews I ordered a 9. They were way too big and I returned them for a pair of 8.5, which fit great thanks to the adjustable straps. 8 would probably have worked as well, depending on how tight you like your shoes... I just didn't want to go through the return process again haha.As to the actual quality of the shoe: I've bouldered and top-roped in these so far and they've been great. They have great firm toes and heels! The straps mean you can adjust it to a tightness you're comfortable with, as well as making it accessible for people with different shapes of feet. I bought them along with Black Diamond's harness and they are matching which pleases me greatly.Overall I would recommend, I can't wait to take these outside! Climb safe everyone!
