Nice quality, easy sizing- fit as expected

I was trying to decide between these and the similar little girls capezios. All of the reviews for ballet slippers on here made getting the size right seem like a nightmare...so I ultimately chose this brand over the capezios because we had a hand me down pair from someone in this brand to go off of and it seemed they run pretty close to typical store shoe sizing. The pair we had to go by are a 7.5 D and they were pretty much exactly the size of my daughters foot (she is almost 4 and her foot is about 5 3/4") - the 7.5 we had fit but was very snug & I was afraid they wouldn't make it through a full session of classes or even fit with tights on. She is wearing a size 8 in most store brand shoes also so I ordered an 8 D in these. Her foot is just an average width. These arrived fast & fit well with a little bit of room to grow in the toe & space for wearing with tights (which is required for her class). They are still pretty snug through the heel despite the space in the toe which is good for keeping them on her feet while dancing anyway. The draw string is also nice to adjust them to her foot, especially at this age when the foot grows so fast, we can loosen later and stretch the wear time some. I also like the soft pink color of these, we bought an inexpensive pair of tights and ballet skirt at a big box store that are somewhere between the slightly peachy "ballet pink" and a soft baby pink- these slippers are also a true light pink shade rather than the peachy shade of capezios so everything matches better. These were a good price, nice color and quality! Glad we chose them.

Wonderfully Supple and they Match Our Theatrical Pink Danskin Microfiber Tights Perfectly!

These are wonderful ballet shoes for your budding ballerina!Leather: The leather is of good quality. It's supple and bottoms are nice.Color: The color is wonderful! It's a true pink tone, not orange. These shoes match our Theatrical Pink Danskin Microfiber Tights perfectly (great tights btw!). Several of the moms with the orange-pink shaded shoes have asked me about our lovely slippers and where I got them.Adjustable Top Fit: The little elastic string/bow around the top allows for adjusting the shoe for a nice snug fit.Sizing: I'm not a dancer myself, so I can't speak to the technical particulars of the fit for a ballet shoe. However, this is a quality brand. My daughter was wearing a Size 26 in Pediped and a size 9 in Sketcher Twinkle Toes when I got these slippers. I originally ordered a Size 9.5, but that slipper had much too much room in the toe for her feet. (Slippers should be a snugger fit, or so I'm told.) So, I exchanged them hassle-free here on Amazon for a Size 9 (Note: I'm an Amazon Prime member) and they fit great! She's been jumping and tip toeing and doing spins and these shoes keep right up with her and stay on.Super pleased with this purchase!---------5 Month Update: These shoes are still wearing great. They've held together just fine, but she only wears them in the dance studio and at home a little bit. (Note: these shoes are not intended for street wear; it's bad for the shoe and also bad for the dance studio's floor.)Also, I misplaced one of the shoes three weeks ago and thus ordered another pair. My daughter's shoe size had increased to a 10.5 so I went ahead and bumped up to the Size 9.5. She still has some room in the toe, but her dance instructor said they were fine. I eventually found the other Size 9 (naturally, two weeks later) and she can still wear that pair, but they are getting pretty snug,

So adorable!!!!!!!! (and lasted all year)

SEPTEMBER 2013:My daughter wears size 9 US toddler. Thanks to the reviews I disregarded this info and went by the Bloch size chart instead. Her foot is exactly 6 1/2 inches which means she should fit a size 10 of the ballet slipper. However, also thanks to other reviews, I ordered slightly bigger (10.5 D US)instead.I freaked a little when I put it on and it was too big. Once I pulled the drawstrings as tightly as I could, the shoe fit perfectly! As she grows, which I'm sure she will in the next 10 months of dancing school, I can loosen the strings of the bow and she'll have a full half inch more.I really didn't want to have to buy 2 different sizes so I'm very pleased at the quality of these shoes. I fully expect them to hold up for one hour a week but if not...I'll be back to update.MAY 2014:These shoes held up well for the dance year. I have not yet had to loosen the strings even though her foot grew half an inch. I expect to be able to use them again next September even if she grows another half an inch.We just did the photo shoot for the upcoming recital and I wanted to share that nail polish remover took off any scuffs immediately! I thought I'd have to buy new shoes but they looked great. The only part that doesn't come "as" shiny clean is the strap, and the tiny seam around the opening because that's a slightly different texture. But for what I needed, these shoes have definitely surpassed my expectations.

Half size up is perfect

My daughter isn't yet 2 years old but started an early dance class. The quality of the leather is very good and overall quality is good. The insoles look a little roughly cut and were a tiny bit frayed around a couple edges but other than that they seem fine. My daughter wears a 5.5 at stride rite and they tend to run large. I bought her a size 6 Bloch slipper and they fit her very nicely. She wore them for 5 hours straight the day they came in, so I imagine they're comfortable or believe me, we would've heard about it! So, despite minor imperfections, the leather is supple and soft, the overall quality is good and the price is decent for a first pair of slippers she will outgrow in several months. We are happy with them and would buy again.
