The best girls tap shoes, hands down.
I've normally been a Capezio fan, but these tap shoes are changing my tune. They are far superior to Capezio Tyettes in several aspects. The tap itself is a heavier, sturdier metal, making a louder sound. And they are flush with the sole, with a thin layer of rubber to help with traction. Finally, they have a snap closure in addition to the ties, so my 5-yr-old daughter can put them on herself. (She takes the ribbon out for class but will use them for the recital.)Her first pair were Capezio, which is what I had always used. And they were really good. But she outgrew them before the end of the year and needed new shoes for her recital, so I decided to go with Bloch (which I'd always bought for my ballet and pointe shoes, as well as for my dance sneakers now) since they were less expensive and there's a chance she'll literally only be wearing them for a couple of weeks and then not fit in them for next year. But now I'll buy a new pair of Bloch when she needs the next size up.I'm a convert. As for sizing, according to the manufacturer's size chart, she should be a 10.5 according to her foot length, but I decided to go with the 11 to give room to grow. It's always been my experience that Bloch runs about a full size up from street shoes. She wears a 10 for street shoes, and the 11 are a little big, but not so big she can't dance. I will probably put no-show socks under her tights to fill the space for the recital. The 10.5 would have worked, too, but this gives a bit more room to grow so hopefully we won't need to buy a new pair before next year's recital.

Excellent tap shoes
My daughter currently wears a size 10 in normal shoes. I bought her a size 11 in these so that she would have plenty of room to grow into them. They are perfect. They are fairly narrow shoes and my daughter has very narrow feet. Because of that, they stay on her feet well even though there is plenty of room at the toe. There is a band of elastic where the shoes do up that cannot be adjusted. But because there is also a bow, we can tie them tight to make sure they stay on well until my daughter's feet grow a little more. All in all, these are excellent tap shoes. They can be bought a size larger than normal to give plenty of growing room without any risk of them slipping off your child's foot. They are excellent quality, well made, and they look really cute. I would highly recommend them, UNLESS your child has wide feet. Then they might be a little narrow.

Love but run small
Good quality but size up a whole size because they run extremely small. Ordered 5.5 and ended up exchanging for a 6.5 and they fit perfectly. My daughter is a 5 in regular shoes

Size up and they’re perfect!!
I love these tap shoes. Please read reviews before ordering. My daughter wears a size 8 regularly. I assumed an 8 1/2 Wide would be enough to size up. It wasn’t. The 8.5 did fit her but barely. She complained that they were too tight. I would have returned if she didn’t already scuff them up. BUT I do love these shoes, the look and the snap feature is perfect! So I reordered her another pair in a size 9 1/5 W. They fit her with some room to grow. I’m hoping the extra space will help them to last through the year. I think a 9W would have worked too but I probably would have had to buy another pair in the next few months.

Fantastic Tap Shoe
I purchased these shoes for my daughter who is 4 and in her second year of tap. They seemed a little nicer than the shoes at Payless and are about the same price. For reference, the last time measured my daughter's feet, one was a size 9 and the other was a 10. I ordered a size 11, so they would last at least a year. They are a little big, as you would expect, but she is able to dance in them and hasn't had any blisters or had them fall off, etc. What I love about these shoes is that there is an elastic strap underneath the bow that snaps closed, so my daughter can take them on and off by herself. The bow is just decorative. I actually took it off because it was slowing down the change from ballet to tap shoes during class and will just put it back for the recital, etc. This is a nice shoe at a good price. I would definitely but these again.

Easy to get on and off...
My daughter is 4 years old and in her first tap/ballet class. I decided to buy these shoes for her based on the other reviews, and am glad I did. They are very well made and the price was excellent. I've noticed some kids in her class have purchased shoes from a discounted shoe store and they look very similar to hers, but are different in one major area. On this shoe there is a black tie that goes across the top of the foot and looks pretty, but in this shoe it is only decorative. There is actually a strap that goes across the top of the foot that has a snap that the kids can do themselves. We removed the tie and will keep it and only use it for the recital. The other, cheaper shoes (but only cheaper by a few dollars)only have the tie across the top of the foot. My daughter can get her shoes on and off by herself, but the other 4 and 5 year olds in her class that have the tie only shoe need help from their mom's or the teacher. For this reason alone it is worth the few extra dollars to purchase this shoe.
