I work at a Chemical and Oil Distribution company and I deal with all kinds of weather and products and wading through water and all kinds of Junk, and there absolutely the Best Boots I have ever owned , they are Extremely comfortable !!! I had already tried 3 other different types of Boot's and these are by far the better boot After Buying Dr. Martens, Carhart and a pair 14" mining Boots that were supposedly water proof they leaked after a couple weeks of wearing them, I found the perfect Boot for me , easy on easy off and extremely warm and my feet don't sweat like other Boots I would Highly Recommend these Boots I would give 10 STARS If I could , and I too am skeptical about some reviews on Amazon, but This review is real and no I don't work for Amazon or the Boot Company !This Review is a 1000 % LEGIT !!!!!
I'm giving these 5 stars because Bogs is a fantastic company and they stand behind their products. I after about 2wks of owning these I was cutting some brush and backed into a sharp stick that went straight through the neoprene on the back of the calf. Contacted Bogs and they offered to replace them at no cost to me. Can't beat that!Regarding the boots - overall they are very nice boots. Took a little longer to break in than my other Bogs but not to bad. I wore them 1-2 hours at a time over the course of the first week before I could wear them for longer stretches. Now I can wear them pretty much all day long with no issue. The steel toe is nice, but mine shipped with a bright yellow toe but no big deal. These are a little heavier than my non steel toe bogs but I'll take that for the added protection. I've been wearing these so far this spring and they haven't gotten too hot so can't speak to how they will do this summer. Stay tuned.
I wear a woman’s size 8 and I bought a men’s size 8, which should be the equivalent of a women’s size 10 and these shoes were too small when I say too small they were so tight that I felt like my feet would swell. I return them for another pair, and the second pair was even tighter, even though it was bought in a men’s size don’t waste your money on these. They’re good quality, but the sizing is so far off. I’m so mad because I waited until I needed them for work in the rain to try on the second pair I trusted that it would be the right size which was naïve of me
I never pay this much for boots but after getting these I did not care about the price any longer and bought 3 more pairs. My feet are so DRY and WARM for such a snug fitting boot, my feet just slid right in. Great design and incredible detail in the craftsmen-ship and! VERY, VERY Impressed with these boots and they look good too for "rain boots". I'll wear these in the Spring and Fall when riding my Harley. They look like riding boots but feel 400% better. Steel toe is great for ass-kickin too. 100% water proof AND Snake proof also (I have a test kit, they passed) IN LOVE WITH THESE, TOO BAD I CAN WEAR THEM IN BED, LOL!
I encounter a wide variety of weather conditions in the oil field in northern Colorado, including a great deal of mud, slush, and standing pools of assorted fluids. I am also required to wear steel-toed boots at all times. I purchased a set of Bogs Rancher steel-toes at the recommendation of a co-worker and I am very glad that I did.I have found the Bogs to be the ideal boot for working in wet conditions. They are very comfortable, particularly for a full rubber boot and they give me the peace of mind that, on a 12-15 hour shift in terrible weather conditions, at least my feet are going to stay dry. On some of the locations I work on, the grading is often hit and miss, and it is common to step into what looks like a shallow puddle of water that is actually a mud hole around a foot deep. With my Bogs on, I have no worries.A couple of things to note... These boots are not insulated, so for deep winter conditions, a set of Baffins are going to be a lot more suitable. These boots are full rubber with a neoprene upper, so they do not breathe and will be a bit sweaty in warmer weather. I would much rather deal with the sweat than I would with waterlogged boots in have wet conditions, though. These boots grip well on all surfaces, and despite all of the chemicals and product that I encounter, the build quality remains very robust. The neoprene upper is not as durable, and I cut one towards the top cuff shortly after buying them, but I think that the tradeoff in terms of comfort is worth having the neoprene on top instead of solid rubber all the way up.If you find yourself walking around in water, mud, and chemicals and want to keep your feet dry, Bogs are an excellent option.
For it's purpose I can't say that there's really a negative aspect just a matter of preference. It's comfortable, rugged, up to spec., attractive except for the spot light yellow on the front but it doesn't stain too easily so that won't be too much of a concern. A bit heavy so if you're going to be up and down stairs as I have to be on a two storey building, prepare for a light workout. All in all I'm not disappointed and pleased with the value for money. Asking for more would be unreasonable..... assuming the lifespan is good. That only time can tell.
