Care for these boots
I purchased these boots because they were waterproof, seemed to have good traction and looked attractive. I live in Alaska and waterproof, sturdy boots were what I was after. I got some significant wetness inside the boots and felt worried so researched some ways to treat this. I took out the inside sock liners first and then put wadded newspaper inside the boots. Checked this after about an hour and the newspaper wads were wet so took them out and did it again with new newspaper waded up. Probably did it about 6 times in a day. I got a large rag and covered the liners on both sides on a mat and stomped on the liners on both sides. Did this several times. All of this helped in a day, much better but still wet in places. So I put the liners under my heat exhaust but not too close (!!) maybe five feet away but so I could let the exhaust hit them. Overnight, they were dry! So I did that with the boots with the heat exhaust and in a morning's time viola. All better. I was impressed with how well these boots did and really like them. They are comfortable and stylish. I got the charcoal grey leather and they could pass for a muted mediumish brown.

A strangely terrible boot
I almost exclusively wear Born shoes and boots and have for years because they fit perfectly every time and they have such a wide range of styles. I was looking for a replacement for another Born chelsea boot that I've pretty much worn out so I bought the Cove in suede. The good - the Cove boot is no exception to the expected fit. They are very comfortable and the sole has excellent traction on snow and ice.The meh - They are tolerably cool looking but don't look as good with skinny jeans as other Born boots (I know, I know, skinny jeans are on their way out). And the style is kind of edging it's way toward Clarks which I am not a fan of at all.The terrible - they are SWEATY like cheap plastic Target boots. I do not have sweaty feet at all and I don't know how else to explain it. The lining seems like some kind of plastic material that doesn't allow your feet to breathe and I'm assuming this is the waterproof part. And because they keep in the moisture, your feet get really cold. And maybe even more annoying - they pull your socks down. Even my most form fitting and tight socks could not hold up to whatever physics result in half your sock dangling at the end of your toe after only a short time. Strangely, this happens even when I'm just working at my desk and not walking around.I wish I would have returned them right away, but the fit and comfort enticed me to wear them around for a week because I thought I must be imagining the sweatiness and the sock issue. But nope. I wasn't. If I were you, I'd keep looking.

For very narrow feet
The shoes, being Born's, are really well made with nice leather and I loved the color. Unlike Born's, these were too long and far too narrow for my normal/medium width foot. I typically wear a 6.5 in Born boots and these were way too long, I had a good inch and a half from my toe to the end of this boot and it was too narrow and pinched my arch at the top of my foot. They made it look like I was wearing clown boots, not the look I was going for. Very pretty, but made for folks with long, narrow feet (preferably with no arch as well). I sent them back.

The Chelsea Boots of My Dreams
These are the Chelsea boots I have dreamed of for the past year! They’re a great quality with a comfortable sole and stretchy goring. They’re pretty true to size as well, not too tight or too loose. I think I could wear a thick knit sock with them and they still fit with thin socks. They aren’t too clunky either but still have enough room around my ankle to tuck in skinny jeans. The leather feels to be a good quality and thicker than other boots. I ordered the Flexx Slimmer boot before these and they were actually too slim with not room around the ankle, not the style I was looking for.

Shipping/return nonsense
I returned these boots the day I received them.....the boots themselves were great, just didn't fit my foot. I am still waiting for the $175.00 return to show up. Waiting 30 days for a refund is absolutely ridiculous. Its not about the dollar amount, its about the fact that my $$ has been held hostage while the company has had the boots over 20 days ago. Totally uncalled for. Do not buy from this store. Very dissapointed.
