The roomy toe box is back! I love this update!

I have a narrow ankle and wide forefoot, and the Ravenna 8 fits perfectly. I am thrilled to say that the roomy toe box is back in this update! I've been a Ravenna fan since the Rav. 4 model. I loved the 4 and 5, however I strongly disliked the 6 (ouch, everything about it hurt my foot), and was so-so on the 7's (better than the 6, but still a bit tight in the toes, and an almost too firm sole). The 5's were my favorite, however the 8 may take over that top spot. The heel remains snug, the toebox opens up, and in the middle section, there's a gap in the laces so you don't get the pressure across the top of your foot (hopefully that makes sense). Plus the shoe is very cushioned and springy without feeling mushy. I heard someone compare it to the Asics Nimbus, but in my experience, the Nimbus is a mushy shoe.Every other model of Ravenna, even my beloved 5's, needed a good week or two of every other day runs to break in. The Ravenna 8s felt good to go right out of the box and my feet felt great after 3, 5, 7, and 10 mile runs.I wear a 10 medium/regular in street shoes, but in running shoes (including all of the Ravenna models I own), I wear a 10.5 medium/regular. I also have flat/low arches. I do not wear inserts, but I've got to think there would be ample room for them in this update. This is a great shoe if you are a neutral runner or if you mildly overpronate. My only cons:- They've reduced their color options down to 3. Navy/purple, silver/purple, and berry/aqua (the berry is cute but only avail at Zappos and at Brooks that I've seen).- The right heel seems a tiny bit looser than the left. Granted, it could be MY heel, but I read someone else mention it too on another site. I just tighten the laces a bit more, and it's fine.- The laces seem a tad shorter than years previous. I tie my laces in a runners knot and barely have enough lace to do so.All negligible though for an otherwise outstanding update.Thank-you Brooks for a great update, but please bring back some more exciting colors!I will definitely buy these again, and will probably stock up on as many pairs as my budget allows.

Very comfortable and help control pronation

I have a terrible time with shoes of all kinds. I've got a narrow heel and a wide forefoot due to bunions. And low arches and a low instep. These shoes are like a gift from the gods. They fit, and they are comfortable. I got this particular shoe because it's rated as one of the best of any brand for controlling pronation. My knees have been bothering me lately because of it. The shoes have helped. If you are a runner, I can't help you much, as those days are behind me. I can say that I don't think they'd have much road feel if that's what you're after. I think they'd be better for a beginner, a jogger, or someone who is heavier. I am active though, with walking and at the gym, and they work very well for that.Size-wise, I normally wear a 9 wide. I heeded the advice of other reviewers and ordered a 9 1/2 wide. They're just right. A word about the laces: they stay tight when you tie them. Either the shoe or the lace has a texture that seems to keep them in place. I especially appreciate that because of my narrow ankles.

Order 1/2 size up

Nice looking shoe with great arch support. I pronate severely, and have had trouble finding a shoe to replace my wonderful supportive old Asics GT 2150 (which isn't made anymore). I thought this Brooks Addiction was the one, but the Brooks Ariel 18 ended up working best for me. Sizing wise, I can wear a 10 in the Ariel, but had to size up to a 10.5 in the Addiction. The toe box is a tad narrower too. I wear a medium width so that didn't bother me, but if you have a wide foot and overpronate, you may want to check out the Ariel 18. Overall, the Brooks Addiction 13 is a nice looking, comfy, supportive shoe, just size up.

Must Have For Nurses and People Who Are On Their Feet 24/7 ;)

As a nurse I'm on my feet for close to 13 hours a day. The only thing that saves me (besides great compression socks) is my multiple pairs of Brooks shoes. These are my favorite and fit the best. I wear an 8.5 but always order a 9 so my toes don't rub at the end. The toe box is very roomy which I'm thankful for. These look better in person than the pictures. Very comfy, yet very sturdy.

Second time to buy these

I like a really good walking shoe. I had these last year and decided to buy them again because they were so comfortable for walking. I think you might want to go up a half size - I did. My other pair was professionally fitted in a good shoe store. I bought these because they were the same shoe. Very comfortable for walking. I'll be trying them out in Europe next month, I walked all over NY in December in them.

Runs narrow

I like the support but the toe box is not as wide as the adrenaline, even though I bought the same size. ( 9 2E). I’m sticking with the adrenaline line on my next pair.
