True to fit. Comfortable. And seem to be wearing well.
For years, the Brooks Cascadia was my go-to trail running and mountain climbing shoe. But starting with the 16 model several years ago, they significantly changed the shoe. They gave me blisters and felt clunkier like I was walking around in boxes. Even the newest Cascadia 18s that just came out don't feel right on my feet.In search for a new shoe I tried the Catamount 2s, and these are the closest things I've found to the old Cascadia models (my all time favorite was the 14, but the uppers get holes easily. I've included a picture showing a side by side comparison). The Catamounts mold to my feet, and even without tying the laces tight, there is no side to side foot movement on the trails. I can't predict durability, but the soles and uppers seem reasonably rugged. The shoes are also super lightweight with enough but not excessive cushioning. If you were a fan of the older Cascadias, give this one or the latest Catamount 3 a try.
These are THEY perfect road or gravel running shoe for when you only want to bring one shoe with you - and, because they're a little narrow around the laces, you can wear only a compression and it fits like a glove. The heel & soul are outstanding, wide and cushioning. I could not be happier, right out of the box.
very comfy and are good for running, but the laces were all tangled when it arrived
Where is the option for a 6th star! These are a vast improvement over my Cascadia 3 Brooks. The outsole is lighter, has better traction, and lasts way longer. I would not run on asphalt with them. They're best for hikes and trail running. I can't say enough good things about this shoe.
They where comfortable but after 6 month they started to have a really bad smell and couldn’t get it to go away we tried everything
This is my second pair! I use them strictly for work and put 15k steps in daily. The last pair held up for a year with a ton of abuse. Great comfort, durable, and look great! Worth the money!
