So comfortable! Great support. Best shoes ever for walking miles and keeping your feet dry.
I was looking for a comfortable pair of everyday shoes that would be equally comfortable on pavement as on trail. I prefer waterproof shoes for handing the rain as well as general tasks (washing car, etc). I have previously owned waterproof hiking/running shoes from The North Face, Salomon, Oboz, and even tried a pair of Alta’s. The TNF’s were fine but made a strange crunchy sound. I never cared for the speed lace system on the Salomon’s but they were generally comfortable. Unfortunately, that comfort only lasted so long and they quickly wore out. The Oboz were extremely comfortable with a fantastic insole and arch support. Unfortunately the soles were extremely stiff and very slippery on wet or icy surfaces. While the theory of the Alta’s is great (zero drop “barefoot” design). I just couldn’t get used to them and the heel hold was terrible.Having already owned a pair of Brooks running shoes, I thought I may as well give their trail runners a try. I have to say that I am so glad that I did. These Brooks Divide 5 GTX’s are extremely comfortable with just the right amount of support and cushion. The Gore-Tex has worked flawlessly in keeping my feet dry whiteout making them too hot. The outsoles are very grippy on a wide range of surfaces, and the style is very understated. I’ve walked and hiked in rocks, mud, sand, dirt, ice, and on pavement with equal comfort and confidence. The shoes are much lighter than my previous Oboz, and feel great over long distances. I find the toe box to be plenty wide enough and also flexible in adapting to your foot. I couldn’t ask for more in a pair of shoes. Extremely happy with my purchase!
WOW!!!I’ve never owned a pair of Brooks running shoes and have only trained using the Sauchony TR series of trail shoes. My typical week has me logging 45+ miles on the treadmill alone plus what I put in during the course of my day so I’m always on my feet.I tried the Brooks for the first time today and was blown away by how comfortable and supportive they were. No break in required and they feel like as if they were custom made for me! My running pace was sustainable for a much longer period of time, fatigue after my run was minimal and, to be honest, I was ready to go for another hour or two if I had the time.Brooks will be my primary choice moving forward!Awesome quality and fit for the price!
I got these so I can keep my Ghost 16s as indoor treadmill shoes, and so far the experience hasn't quite been the best. Though I suspect there's some user error as I am on the heavier side and took them on a 4 mile power walk right out of the box instead of breaking them in a bit first. Got me some gnarly blisters on the lower back of my heels. I got them in the same size as my Ghost 16s that fit perfect, and I suspect that the fit isn't quite the same and the Divide 5s seem to run a little bit bigger. But before the blisters happened they did seem to feel comfortable. Hopefully after wearing them in they'll perform better on power walks.
They are a pretty nice sneaker They are a bit narrow in the toe box for me as my foot is on the wider side but I ordered a half size up and adjusted the laces so my foot doesn't move around and they were great. I walked 7 miles in them and had no issues at all. Nice for in the rotation
I enjoy that these are an all terrain shoe. I’ve run a few trail races and use them for endurance training. They were heavier than I was used to at first but have adjusted since then. I highly recommend for trails and a bit of strength training on your runs.
Purchased for my 14 yr old for back to school. Well made, fit true to size, good value for money. Brooks hold up very well, like the darker colors with our Georgia clay. Great support for growing teen
