High quality. Comparing these Brooks to my Ascics.
These outlast Ascics because of the rubber reinforced toe box/webbing. The never rub my Achilles, but I also use a very tight heel-lock lace up tie. They're great shock absorbers. The ankle side supports are about 2mm shorter than Ascics, not good or bad, just noticable. These Brooks are less flexible than my Ascics, which I need when walking/running outside, so as a female nurse, I use my Asics to walk the 3-5 miles per shift on my hospital's hard floors, and running on my park's concrete. I use these for running through wooded trails and muck. The toe box is larger and more comfortable than Asics, I get my normal size in Brooks, and I have to go up 0.5-1.5 in shoe size with Asics just for a wider toe box. I find that the inside of Brooks shoes break down before the outside breaks down. They're very well made, very study, high quality, and they outlast Ascics (specifically the toe webbing outlasts Ascics every time), which they had better do at 2-3xs the price of Ascics.

A great hiking shoe!
Kraig Adams turned me on to the idea of hiking in trail running shoes. I love Brooks running shoes, and have three pairs of the Ghost 16 shoes. I’ve been buying Ghost’s since forever and appreciate their zero break-in fit. So I was expecting the same for the Divide 5 and was not disappointed. They are very comfortable, and I really don’t know how the footbed can be so cushioned, but it is. I took them on a 2 mile trail with uphill and downhill portions, gnarly roots, rocks, small boulders, and they performed great. At this price, I am thinking of getting a second pair, and even trying the Divide 4’s. Well done, Brooks!

Super Comfortable
I am 79 years old and when the weather is not nice, too hot, too cold or rainy, I go to the track at our rec center and I do my usual 2 to 3 miles in these shoes. They are super comfortable with a very good cushion. I don't wear them outside because I don't need another outside walking shoe. The shoes fit properly for the size that I wear and they look very nice. I recommend them to anyone wanting a comfortable shoe.
